I was noticing how far this is from completion, and I was wondering if there is anyway for me to write scenes, items, characters, etc.

Yes, you can post a concept of your idea on the ideas subforum and once if fleshes out you can post it on the submissions subforum, when is ready just PM one of the admins and submit your document.

There are ton of stuff on the pipeline already, writing is not the problem there are many characters queued to be added. Coding is the problem it takes time and there are not enough coders.
