Any chance of us getting more ways to increase Int?

Currently, the only way to increase Int at a reasonable pace outside of a few transformation-based items and leveling up is via Syri. So if you want to play as smart Steele, your options are to heavily dose yourself with taint, jack int on levelup (which is a pain if you're playing smuggler or Merc), or fuck Syri.

Furthermore, since Willpower is hard to come by early game, I already need to spend some of those precious stat points on that, leaving me with very few for my combat-related stats; which further pushes us towards Syri.

The problem with all that is that some of us are straight males who like playing male characters and Syri is a dickgirl.

Basically, I'd really like a way to increase intelligence outside of levelup that doesn't involve either tainting myself to hell or having what is technically gay sex.

Oh man, this reminds me of how perfect Ramis is for male Steeles. Just add her to your crew, work out and fuck all day.

If you keep talking to Syri about books after you’ve completed SyriQuest, you can pretty much endlessly increase INT. And no, I did not use the chest. >;P

You have to fuck Syri, though, and not everyone wants to do that, even if they're playing a female character.

Or play chess with Semith

I've tried to use this method, but found that it takes a lot of time compared to other methods, since you can only do it once per day. That limitation isn't so bad when you're only off by a point or two, but it can take well over 20 real-world minutes to max out Intelligence if you try to evenly distribute points through to level 10.

Right now, it really is preferable to dump all your points into intelligence and Aim, then use Ramis to max out the rest. This is faster if you're male and willing to switch up your relationship with her, and don't care about how skinny and buff your character gets (which obviously is a bonus if you prefer that).

I'm pretty sure the easy way is talking about books with Syri before SyriQuest. I'm given to understand afterward the talk menu changes positions so you can't just hold down 1.

You realize you can change Thickness and Tone through things other than exercise right? You may get skinny and buff by working out with Ramis, but you don't have to stay that way.

Get Flexibility perk from catnip, become cum-cow, get Dumb4Cum, make yourself male again, drink your own cum for 70 INT

Pretty sure that's off the table if you don't want to have sex with Syri.

Oops, I forgot to actually finish that sentence. I meant to complain about having to regain the previous muscle tone and thickness variables afterwards, especially if you try to stay at max level for at least one stat (like max willpower). I know that was a pain for me, at least.

...Furthermore, since Willpower is hard to come by early game, I already need to spend some of those precious stat points on that, leaving me with very few for my combat-related stats...
My last two playthroughs were an experiment to see just how much I could neglect my stats.

Melee Tech Specialist (Attack Drone):
Just raising Intelligence was enough. Charge Weapon made Physique and the weapon I was actually using more or less irrelevant for most of the game. Once I got the Custom Shock Gear (from Shizuya at level 9, had to rely on Gravidic Disruptor), I hardly had to use Paralyzing Shock, Charge Weapon, or even Deflector Regen.

Ranged Smuggler:
Kept Aim and Intelligence maxed. Queen Taivra's Tease attacks were difficult if the fight went on too long, but I was ultimately able to beat her with the Shock Bow and Concussive Shot.

As long as you don't let your Libido get out of control, you should be able to resist the Venus Pitchers with low Willpower. Additionally, the Elder Venus Pitchers (the fixed location ones) only appear after you've encountered one of the Young, so the lower Jungle is 'safe' until then.

Conclusion: It isn't actually necessary to max Willpower. That said, I make a point of keeping Libido low. Keep some Focus Pills on hand.

Mercenaries have Iron Will, which rewards you for raising Physique, but their best build is Ranged. This does put them in a bit of an awkward spot.

Smugglers have Escape Artist which allows them to use Reflexes instead of Physique for escaping Grapples, so they have less need for Physique (unless going Melee). For that matter, Aimed Shot/Sneak Attack run off of Intelligence and Level, so I may not have needed to max Aim, really. On the other hand, Aim increases Flash Grenade's effectiveness. Either way, Willpower was left untouched.

You should be able to afford to hire Ramis after the first Probe. Second at the latest. It costs 12K if you didn't beat her at Arm-Wrestling. 10K if you did. You get 10K from the first Probe + 1200 from Dane.

Picking up the ZK Rifle from retrieving 'Crazy' Carl's Machina and a Vanae Spear are a good way to save some money. I do recommend the Decent JoyCo Shield Generator from V-Ko, though.

Don't put your Affinity in a stat you're going to max out via Level points. You start with it one higher, but it wastes the bonus to Slow Stat Gain.

Alternatively, you could use Transformatives to raise stats other than Intelligence to free up points. Laquine Ears can raise both Aim and Reflexes (to 25 at level 10), for example, are easily save-scummed, and produce no Taint.

I'd recommend minimizing training with Ramis and at the Ten Ton Gym until you have a suit of Augment-Weave from the Cyberpunks on Zheng Shi, because it doubles Soreness recovery, making training faster. Without Augment-Weave 2 Exercises -> Sleep leaves you with 1 Soreness. With Augment-Weave, you can go 2 Exercises -> BBQ Pit (for Energy) -> 1 Exercise -> Sleep and have no soreness gain.

...but it can take well over 20 real-world minutes to max out Intelligence if you try to evenly distribute points through to level 10.
If you want to evenly distribute points, I think you're better off waiting a few levels, then Working Out/Running/Swimming Laps until you near max, then use your level up points. Slow Stat Gains give diminishing returns, but level up points are always 1-1.

Remember that weapons only get 1/2 stat value as bonus damage.

You don't need the Augment-weave armor for Ramis. Her workouts cause less soreness than the Ten-Ton Gym. Sleep one night after a full workout and Steele is fine.

Yeah, having a trainer that doesn't require you to fuck her if you want more stat increases is preferrable. Whether it's Mirrin or Syri, some people just aren't going to be into that. That's part of why Ramis is such a joy to have around, IMO.

Non-Sexual Stamina (if you're Top, female or Taur) can be done twice in a row post level 8 (because the first leaves you with enough energy) or Stamina -> Strength (but not Strength -> Stamina). This causes 6 soreness. Augment-Weave removes all of it with one Sleep. Of course, this only matters if you're paying attention to the number of days passing and trying to be as efficient as possible. So maybe only to me.

Oh, all this time I thought her leaving signified the start of her sexual interactions. Not gonna lie, I only ever attempted it once.

You can combine this by camping out in Breedwell. Work out with Ramis once, donate sperm/go premium breeder, go to sleep.

Now you're making money while working stats.

Actually, post-Syri Quest is easier because you can actually select talking about books specifically instead of having to rely on RNG (I’m pretty sure pre-quest you only have one talk button and it’s random whether you talk about books or not). Meanwhile, while I have an extra menu to go through post-quest, I legit got my Int up insanely fast.

But either way, you’d have to be banging Syri to access that so that’s a problem for anyone who doesn’t want to do that.

I think maybe rare events or special items like in CoC specifically made to increase Int would be nice. Maybe it could sacrifice a different stat for that similar to what ClearYu does for aim?

It's a set cycle (past -> dick -> books -> past). All you have to do is hold down 1 (as long as you don't mind telling her you're into Sci-Fi).

I forgot. Focus Pills give +5 Intelligence for 1 hour if you're not already maxed out.
