Take cover does jack all against Amara despite her attacks clearly being from a gun which is a ranged weapon, or at least every other instance of a gun being shot is. I'd understand if she were to pistol whip you or something, but considering this ability has worked against other bosses this comes off as inconsistent and unfair.

I think three of her combat actions are non-ranged:
Shoulder Charge
Grand Slam
Cluster Grenades (I think Explosive damage is seperate from ranged)
Two are ranged:
Chaingun Barrage
Promethean Gun
One is a support skill:
Power Regen

If you can provide a save file to test with, I can take a closer look. But yes, that move list looks correct and she only has two ranged attacks. In terms of applying damage, the chaingun is a rapid fire attack, made up of multiple single ranged attacks.
