Are alternate probe planets still gonna be a thing? Like that Mad Max alternative to Mengha that was once mentioned? If so did the Devs ever state a particular reason for setting it up as a side planet rather than a higher level planet in the main quest sequence?

That alternate first planet is still the only one that we plebes are aware of, along with it supposedly being a part of a whole lineup of alternate probe planets.

Don't think we've heard exactly WHY this is being bothered with. Unless it was a promise that was made, I don't see any point in alternate probe planets.

Plus from what I gather, it takes a lot of time, writing and coding to do a planet. So for something that's an alternative step to Mhen'ga, Tarkus or Myrellion might be fairly low down on the list of things to do, especially when there might be more important things to add.

It was a promise, it was one of the backer goals on the donation project, several alternative planets for probes. Though there's another promise that Fenco backed out of on there that probably will never see the light of day as it would have been a nightmare to try to code which was the faction system.

He only backed out of the numerical reputation system, your choices will still have an impact on how the different groups in TiTS react to you. That is an important distinction to make.

Hmm... Sounds a lot like Fallout.
I'm afraid I haven't actually played Fallout, but from what I know Fallout's system works on a hostile to not hostile to friendly scale, which can be influenced by any action that effects a group. That's not what Fen is going for.
