I'm HARASSING him!? By saying he should work on the actual content of the game!? I'm kicking down his door and beating him!? Am I stalking him!? Am I DDOSing his site!?
Asking someone to work on the game is NOT harassing stop trying to paint me into some kind of a bully.
If I'm not giving him consoling pats and coos Im HARASSING him. I feel you don't know what actual harassment is.
harassment (
countable and uncountable,
plural harassments)
- Persistent attacks and criticism causing worry and distress.
- Deliberate pestering or annoying.
- Excessive intimidation.
Believe me, as an overweight queer that grew up in the countryside, I know what harassment is. It comes in all shapes and sizes. Not all violence is physical. It's not the content of what you're saying that's the issue, but rather the
tone you are using, as you have
already been told. You're definitely coming across as trying to intimidate, annoy and/or criticise, and that's not the first time. Besides, I was speaking generally; you're not the only one who could gain to lose a bit of salt; and Fen is not the only person making this game; this kind of thread is demotivating for
everyone that is working on the game.
I am not saying that your critics aren't valid, or that I disagree with them (because honestly, there's little content that really catches my interest aside from side-quests and main quest
, though I have to say that all of Ara Kei's content is so my jam it's not even funny), I'm saying that
the way you tell them is wrong.
If you want to actually constructively criticise something, you do it once, in a polite way, and ideally,
after your advice was sollicited. If the person doesn't take your advice, that's on them and that's where you should take a hint, back off and leave them to it.
But perhaps concrit isn't really what you want? If you want to vent your frustration with the game, it
might be a good idea to create a venting thread - at least it might keep the salt from spreading to other areas of the forums. Or it might make it worse because salty people would feel validated. I don't know. It may be a stupid idea.
Anywho. I feel I've made my point.
If your point was that you can start a thread that will derail into a dumpster fire of a pointless argument and make an inconvenience of yourself, then yes. You've made your point.
If I get banned for having my opinion on the dev cycle. Then so be it.
That's not why you'd be banned and you know it. You'd be banned for being unreasonably persistent in your bullheaded attitude, ignoring any reasonable criticism that's thrown your way, and being inimaginably rude.
Again, tone is the issue here. Especially through text, where misunderstandings are very common. And the topic is especially sensitive, because it has already been
extensively discussed.
And your attempts at manipulating the people reading this by making yourself out to be the victim/martyr are transparent. Please don't.
You started this thread. It may have been a spur of the moment thing, or it may have been a hook to troll us all. It doesn't matter: you created this thread. You don't get to play victim here.
Either way, if you don't like the feedback you're receiving, you can apologise and start discussing this like a calm, sensible adult, or you can ask MagicTed to nuke this thread. Heck, if you absolutely need to rant about Fen and the way he develops his games, be my guest; but please don't do it Fen's own public forums, which is frequented by people who actually like the game, some for a long time, and who won't take kindly to someone bashing a thing they like for reasons that have already been discussed several times in the past few years.
Or if you do like the feedback you're receiving, please keep adding fuel to the fire (some people do get off on starting drama, and I don't have the right to judge/kinkshame). At least we'll know.
