The idea is that you, the NSFW community work together to create THE GREATEST NSFW GAME, by adding content. It doesn't matter what your skill is as long as you can apply it. Coders, writers, artists and everything in between. Please spread this to the subreddit or any other NSFW gaming site you know. Also, I am willing to post any discord links/widgets that has more than 10 people who inhibit it on a regular basis.

So, let me get this straight: there's no engine, no framework, no design document, not even a set common theme, no any kind of staff or coordination? And you expect people to come and do... something? Why would they do that? This is worse than the usual "I have a vague idea, I need people to do the actual work".

To be fair, It's worked before... Violation of Heroine and Slave Maker were both open collaboration projects with creation submission open to the public.

I support the idea of a community made open collaboration project but I also agree with some of the above criticisms. There needs to be a structure in place that people can add to, otherwise you'll have a forum full of art, erotic writing, and snippets of code, but no way to knit them all together into a cohesive whole.

As for your project. WAY too little to go off of. The greatest? I doubt it, it takes a lot to really make the 'greatest NSFW game' ever existing and I mean a LOOOOOOOOOOOT if you're gonna just not pander to the popular fetishes/kinks that go around in like 99% porn games as is, you'd have to literally cater to almost everyone even, minus those with the most disgusting or illegal fetishes.

Plus nobody is gonna just up and do the work for you. You NEED stuff like framework, a plan, yada yada yada.
Like if you had a knack at writing and just needed coders you could probably get somewhere if you already had a general baseline down, or something that can be considered an alpha build to a game, like how TiTS started in Alpha and worked it's way up through a mix of both the developers AND the community's content.

You're not gonna get any attention nor people wanting to help with just a blank canvas, nobody's gonna do it for you because there's no plan. We don't even know what you want in your game, nor do we know what you DON'T want. And if you're gonna be making "The greatest" smut game, chances are you're gonna have to pander hard to really earn that title. Because it's subjective.

Ok, so after a night of rest and a clear mind, I've read all the comments and criticisms. First of all, I know nothing about game development and yes it might be a bit much for me to ask you to post content and do work on my behalf. SO... I will pay 1 programmer 50$ for a simple text and image parser. I will pay 25$ to 1 writer to create an introduction to the game. I will pay 1 artist 25$ for a commissioned piece that would represent the game as a whole.

Keep in mind this is Australian dollar, and if the work is exceptional I will give a bonus of 20$ to all three.

I posted it on general bullshit first because It wasn't a game, just an idea, I posted it on Adult games because I thought it might get a few more views.

That's incredibly little money for any of those 3 things.
Busts come in at about $60 (American) nevermind full conceptual/feature artwork (especially showcasing multiple characters). For $25.00 (American) you could possibly get a fancy title card maybe with a simple mascot character included. (probably in a chibi/symplistic style)
Most commissionable writers charge around $10-$15 (American) per 1000 words. So for your $25 (Australian) You could maybe convince a writer to produce 2000 words. That's some intro there.
I don't know code but I do know its a lot more complicated than just having a parser. You need to plug scenes into the game which requires everything being linked together and then have a way for users to interface with the game so they can actually access content. Code is a constantly growing, evolving and time consuming beast.
Never call anything simple in coding, that's how you develop spaghetti.
You are trying to entice talented and/or experienced creatives and they need propper compensation for time spent working on your project.

All of the above is ignoring that there is no core to the game right now. It's literally nothing. What would the art be of? What's the introduction introducing us to? What's the point of a parser at this stage, the game might not even need one yet?
There's no plan for gameplay, setting, story, locations, how to handle smut, transformations, pairings, fetishes... The list just goes on.
There isn't even a concept here, just a vague (read: impossible) promise of the greatest smut game ever.

Yes there are wonderful people who are willing to create content for free as they do for TiTS. The important distinction is that they are producing content that they concepted or expanded and desire it to be a part of an expanding and enjoyable gameworld that is engaging and continues to develop. You cannot expect the same thing for a blank slate like this. Maybe one day when your deep into the process, but a lot of work needs to happen before that time comes along.

Yes I'm here to pile on and echo the rest of the thread but, I think reality needs to hit hard here.

(I debated posting this but... YOLO... Please don't shit on me too hard if my numbers are horribly off)

What you need is to provide something valuable. Either a skill that is needed (a lot of people pick writing) or enough funding for others to make it worth their time. The best you can get otherwise will be nothing more than hopeless dreamers and hobbyists who drop out at the first sign of this taking an effort.

This isn't even Idea Guy, this is "I need an idea and also someone to do all the work for me" guy.

With this level of involvement at best you would be the producer and you'd need to put up a lot more money than that.

I've no idea why so many amateurs think they can write or that it's easier than drawing or coding, either, though they usually find out that it's just as if not more difficult.

Because technically-minded people have a tendency to think artistic endeavour is childish and easy. And writing's the most assinine form of all, because anyone can do it. We're doing it right now!

@Alexi , if you're interested in creating your own NSFW game, you really need a vision people can invest in - and a prototype. Think about what inspires you, what gets your own motor running, and proceed from there. Fenoxo didn't open this website and say "Ok guys, I have a lovely clean sheet of paper here, does anyone have any ideas?" He built it, and they came.

As someone with a technical background who has a bit of programming experience, I have a lot of respect for writers and artists. I think most people understand how much skill is required to program even a simple game or draw a decent looking picture but people definitely underestimate how difficult it is to write well.

It's true that pretty much everyone can write, but writing something that communicates your narrative while also being entertaining, clear, and concise is extremely difficult. Lewd game developers have the extra challenge of needing to write things that will turn other people on. Human sexuality is tricky, so with lewd games in particular, good writing is what separates the sexy from the cringe.

It's not even that straightforward; you have to get a feel for when you want to be clear, when you want to be ambiguous, when you want to tease at something without saying it, when something should be communicated directly and when it should be a thematic element that's painted in through tone and style and action, when you want it to be entertaining and when you want it to be uncomfortable or challenging or even how to challenge while entertaining, when to give the audience what it wants and when to give them what you think it needs - writing is for degenerate ne'er-do-wells who get their pleasure from subjecting other people to those sorts of tumultuous fantasies.

Those who just try to copy the process piecemeal or think that stringing words together is easier than drawing lines and would boil both down to that will always miss what exactly it involves and why it's so hard for someone with nothing to say to do it even when they're just copying the most accepted, most banal and typical sorts of passages and narratives.
