The country of Almas has flourished over the last twenty years under the guidance of its emperor, Asmar Turay, who united the fractured nation under him and stopped the perpetual civil war over the capital, the source of all the desert nations water. He also started trading with nations on other continents, using Almas’s huge reserves of diamond to trade for essential food and water, in those 20 years it has gone from a nation on the edge of destroying itself to a prosperous and united country. However, the greed of man is not something that can be quashed so easily and forces work in the shadows, trying to usurp the emperor by any means necessary and take the throne for themselves.

Cason is escorted to outside a room in the lavish castle by a guard, the dark skinned man pointing at a chair next to it and grumbling before walks away, his armour clanking with each step. He had been hired by the current emperor to protect his daughter, she had come of age and would be attending her first public event. The emperor seemed friendly enough when he talked with Cason but the foreigner could sense something below his smiling exterior, something cold and calculating. No wonder he was the one to unite the desert nation under him. Although he had a large amount of knights to chose for defending his daughter he picked a foreigner, perhaps not trusting one of his own men when they could just as easily be a traitor.
A large coin sack in his hand reminds Cason just how lucrative this job offer is, the emperor seems willing to spend more money on his own daughter's protection than his own. The door to the princess's bedroom is slightly ajar and the sounds of several women talking can be heard through the gap, perhaps Cason should go inside and introduce himself to the princess that he will be guarding for the next few months. "Phew milady, we'll have you looking presentable for your first public appearance!" The voice is of an older woman, maybe one of the young princess's maids. "I hope they like me, they have seen my mother in public so hopefully my appearance won't scare anyone." The young voice sounds filled with worry, obviously the young princess.
