Not A Bug [0.9.154-PUBLIC-ELECTRON#6825] Huskar treats refuse to give Huskar Tf's, even with all but 1 Ausar score point

Not actually a bug.

I think the racial scoring/TF system is broken. I'm only 1 point off from being full Ausar on current save and it still will not give me any Huskar TFs(I can't even get fluffy flag on Zil arms now, even though the TF is supposed to be able to give it to any arm that has the furred flag on it, which bee arms now have), it either gives me duds or prioritizes giving Ausar arms, which I don't think is supposed to be happening.

this is not bugged. to determine if you qualify for the huskar tfs, the game checks if you have canine/ausar ears, tail(s), arms and legs. since you do not have canine arms, you go down the "ausar path", in which the only available tfs are the arms (not including duds).

in other words, human face makes you qualify as an ausar, but it does not make you qualify for huskar tfs.

I want to, but the racial scoring/TF system broke at somepoint. I never had a problem getting Huskar TFs while being only 3/5 on Ausar score/half-ausar race in legacy versions of the game...
this was likely a change with the newer system, based on Shepard's message on the old code. both of the requirements Shepard listed still hold true. the one i stated is either new, or Shepard missed it.

According to the old Flash code, you get the ausar TFs if your race doesn't have "huskar" in the name, and either:
  • You're a half-ausar who lacks fur on both arms and legs, or
  • Your race also doesn't have "ausar" in the name
Otherwise, you'll get the huskar TFs if your race has either "ausar" or "huskar" in the name, or a dud otherwise (though I'm pretty sure that dud is impossible to get and is just there as a failsafe). So, maybe double-check what race the game considers you, as that might be the blocker; if not, I've no idea, since something might've gotten borked as a result of the racial score system rework.

i've updated the wiki page to specify this and will do so again if this post gets the requirements changed again.

Yes, the item is not bugged and is working as expected. The arms have to be of canine type (canine arms type can optionally be furred depending on how they were obtained), so the zil arms don't count despite being furred. If you use the Huskar Treats enough times, you will eventually become a huskar (limits may vary depending if the leg and tail types are not locked by any other conditions). You may fall into a dud effect often due to how cheap the item is, but I had no problem turning the character from your save into a huskar after using several treats (and no other item).

I did make a change to the item for the next release, but it doesn't change how the item essentially functions and will probably be unnoticeable overall. Instead of looking at the full race string for "ausar" and "huskar", it will compared the stripped-down version of the race and match it to "ausar" and "huskar" instead. This is pretty much the same result, but a bit more fool-proof for any alternative/future races that strip down to become "ausar" or "huskar". This includes things like "ausar-taur", "amazonian huskar", or anything similar.

Really? Ah bummer, hope the game gets others ways to obtain the fluffy skin flag(and a way to get the fluffy arm flag for arms with the furred flag, not just Canine specifically) in the future.

I mean, you can always just use the save editor...
