After being late to the last few updates, I started to wonder if update checking was broken, and then when I open up devtools for the first time for something unrelated, I see a failed fetch request right at the top of the console. I wish the game displayed some kind of error so that it wouldn't have taken me stumbling upon the keyboard shortcut for the dev console to find this.
