[0.9.009] Charge weapon increases drone damage

Using charge weapon increases drone damage by a high, but inconsistent amount. I have attack drone and drone control. Bug worked with Domwulfe and Tamwolf MK.1. I assume it works with other drones as well

Here is a picture of Domwulfes dmg before I activate charge weapon.

The damage increase is inconsistent. I tested some enemies on Dahl and Zeng Shi. Domwulfe did between 80 and 140 dmg per attack in the same fight. Tamwolf MK.1 did about the same damage as Domwulfe.

Edit: The combat tail implant does increased damage too. Jumped from 20 to 110 after using charge weapon.

Oddly, it seems to affect the Combat Tail, but not Tam-Wolf 2.0,

And the other equippable drones? Maybe they got fixed and the tail was not?

I kind of assumed the bug was still in play, so I didn't test.
Siegwulfe (Nerrasa) is affected, the Laser Sentry is not. It seems to be Drones without an Energy damage component. May be an unannounced feature/change.

Bump for 0.9.014-PUBLIC#2361.
It actually does seem to increased the damage of Tam-Wolf 2.0. I'm not sure if my data was wrong last time or if something changed.

Edit: There is definitely a Charge Weapon boost and an intermittent damage increase that might be a Crit.

Edit: There is definitely a Charge Weapon boost and an intermittent damage increase that might be a Crit.
Something I'd also like to note, is that Tamwolf counts as a melee drone now, as well as Siegewulfe.

Bring him up to that drill bot fight in Myrellion you can unlock after fighting off an infected myr, and every time he attacks the robot treats it as if you melee'd him instead of shot him.

Also the infinite stat bug is still a thing; although it seems to apply to everything that does things by uneven increments. Syri is the immediate example of this, as she can overload your intelligence to 50 and higher at level 1(but it'll still act as max for that level), and this seems to be applicable to other stats due to how the stat gain works.

Still not fixed in 0.9.080-PUBLIC#4130.

Fenoxo has said this would probably be fixed when he made Drones creatures. What happened to that?

PS: Infinite stats has been fixed.

I'm absolutely here to watch how long this bug is going to take to get fixed lmao. At this point am wondering if drones are going to get removed at this rate since there's even a bug that happens which completely breaks the game's combat system to always guarantee victory.

Hopefully fixed for the next release.

Attacks from drones should now have a "drone" tag. "Charged Weapon" should no longer affect "drone" tagged melee attacks, so those attacks won't gain the electric bonus damage.

At the moment, I don't have any information on that, but I do recall that was a desired feature. If that happens, this change shouldn't effect it too much.

I can't do it myself as that would require reworking a number of parts in the combat code to handle that, not to mention the extra balancing that would need to be done for combat targeting and such.

Thanks. I had potential concerns with scaling. Right now, you can use, say, Tam-Wolf 2.0 all the way to the end, but if he had static stats, he'd probably be too fragile after a while. Although it could probably be worked around. But I was kind of looking forward to trying it out.

Yea, with the new "drone" tag, we can modify the drone attack's damage calculation directly and include/exclude different checks and such. So it can potentially work as if the attack is from a second character, just not completely.

I'm personally okay with having drones scale with the character since that would feel more smooth gameplay-wise. But if drones are broken into their own individual characters, there would need to be upgrade/replacement options.
