There is one (1) full time writer working on this game. Said writer has had a really rough time of it of late and is now suborned to me, working on the Main Story. The next expansion to the main story quest won't be done for a couple more months. That'd be the cause of the massive imbalance...
They've been reworked into a slightly different endgame. I don't quite want to spoil it cuz I'm very happy with the narrative hooks leading up to it.

Cait doesn't qualify, she's too mutt-ified. Kiyo, the Kobold Queen, and the Drider Queen aren't actual royalty. The Spirit Summons are dead, so that's right out, but their living relatives (the rulers of Tychris) would qualify.
It does that already! This is what the Physical Resistance stat, which toughness contributes to, does -- reduces the chance of body shots taking effect.

You can ALREADY beat her in combat. While we'll constantly tune her Winter City fight's difficulty upwards until we reach the endgame (and she gets her final, final-boss-stats, at which point I'll probably also write a new version of the WC Kas-Defeat), she'll always technically be beatable...
