It's planned to be gated behind (at least) the initial Tychris content and that still need to be written in the first place. We know Tychris is on Savin's schedule but only after Khor'minos' MSQ is done and he's got other things he plans to do before that. So get comfy, it will be a while.

They did, the devs have been quite clear that the Champ is not you, mostly blank slate or no they're a character albeit one you have a lot of control over. The Champ (and Captain Steele) are canonically pan because it's so much easier for the writers that way.
