Why is it still possible to get disarmed by enemies while using weapons that have the ability to fly back into your hands like the Dawnsword or Skypiercer

At the end of the second winter city quest where you meet Etheryns dead grandparents it is possible to get the circlet of sunlight but I do not know where to take it to get fixed. Just wanted to know if it is possible or it is yet to be implemented.

I solve that problem by having cait equip the witch set or have some healing items on hand. But normally I deal with the enemies by using aoe attacks first before relying on thunderbrand to finish off enemies who are on the verge of death.
