Oni Lore?

I remember asking Kiyoko her opinion on Arona and she compared our Orc companion to the Oni of her home country. They ain't touched on anymore besides that as far as I've can tell so I kind of wanna know what the writer's interpretation of Oni are in Savarra. I would assume they're no different than Izumi in CoC1 where they're just another race of large humanoids that inhabit the world and they're effectively the regional/cultural stand-in for Orcs in The Old Country. Only instead of Green, they're Red/Blue and got horns.

id assume it would be muscled up red orcs, and slim and slightly calmer blue orcs, so red and blue oni, and theyd have horns

I think it's similar to the Nekomatas case: they're similar to another more extensive and known race (catfolk) but present some slight differences from their more widely known cousins (still on the nekomata example, unlike the jassiran catfolk, nekomata tend to have two tails)
So, i'd imagine Oni to be just Orcs but with more demon-eske features (mostly horns)

Interesting. You know, I imagine if an Oni character does show up in a later update, there'd be a funny interaction of them being like "Why the hell are the Oni in these lands so horny all the time? Is there something in the water?" and the Champion just points out that - despite their blue/red skin and horns - those aren't fellow Oni they've been running into, those are fucking demons.
