Ring of Fate issue

So the wiki says that the Ring of Fate being upgraded has to happen during its quest. But the moment you unlock the vault, Calise grabs it and only gives it to you right around the time you have to run a literal marathon carrying a woman gushing blood from her upper torso.

Am I missing something?

You're supposed to reclaim it after fighting the two corrupted cows, it's still in the slot, there's a prompt to remove it afterwards.

Yeah I got the teardrop but I can't combine it with the ring during the quest like the wiki says I have to because Calise has it. I even checked and the teardrop is still in my key items even after getting back to Khor'Minos

The teardrop should fuse automatically when you equip the ring on your character if you have teardop on you too. But I think you can do it anytime, not only in the dungeon as long as you looted the teardrop.

The two only combine after the fact when you get back to Khor'minos if I remember.

It looks like it did but the teardrop is still in my key items
