Hi, I'm thinking of creating an orphaned fox child npc that the champ could adopt and I was just wondering if such an npc is allowed because I wouldn't wanna submit something that goes against the established lore.
If that's truly the case, I could always adapt and make it so, the champ takes the kiddo to the den by default (as the positive option for how to deal with him) but the kiddo then "adopts" the champ and treats them like their older sibling. Could something like that work?I'm all for the idea of adoption but I don't think it really works for a kitsune child. The kitsune have a strong sense of community and even those not well liked in the den are still taken care of by it. even a kid without parents will be taken in by someone in the den and it's unlikely that they would let someone unaffiliated take the kid. Especially if you don't even have your own home.
Maybe. I just don't see why it has to be a kitsune though. their are lots of other non-insular races in the marches that it would make sense to adopt and take back to hawkthorne. and you could come up with lots of scenarios for them being orphaned. like one who's dad was a raider who raped his mom who never wanted them. or a kid who's traveling with their parents who where recently dragged off by demons. If that's truly the case, I could always adapt and make it so, the champ takes the kiddo to the den by default (as the positive option for how to deal with him) but the kiddo then "adopts" the champ and treats them like their older sibling. I was thinking of kitsune specifically because not everyone has a fox child (i.e., has done either Kiyoko's content or has gotten Miko pregnant) and I wanted to fill in that niche for those of us who don't have a child to interact with. I'm open to making the child some sort of hybrid, instead, if it would make more sense lore-wise. (It helps that there's planned pc pregnancy for kitsune kits tbh—I just hope that it's not restricted to kitsune champs, though.)Maybe. Perhaps the parents could have been faceless and they had the child while they were banished and then something bad happened to them ?? Maybe misfortune could have surrounded them or something, idk—almost like a curse.I mean if a Kitsune is outside of the den and not in one of the offshoots, chances are they are a faceless, and I dont know how possible it is for a kit to be one. You would need a strong justification for them to be out there and parentless.
Again if your goal is to make a child for the player to interact with I don't see why it specifically needs to be a kitsune. If anything I think thats all the more reason why it ought to be another race altogether. The foxes have more than enough content as is, you have so much more room for creativity with almost all the other races there's no reason to stick to the one that would make the least amount of sense and be hardest to justify.I was thinking of kitsune specifically because not everyone has a fox child (i.e., has done either Kiyoko's content or has gotten Miko pregnant) and I wanted to fill in that niche for those of us who don't have a child to interact with. Alright, alright—you've convinced me. I will go for a tiny cat child then. Catfolk content isn't oversaturated, too, right ??Again if your goal is to make a child for the player to interact with I don't see why it specifically needs to be a kitsune. I mean it might, and if not chances are it just could be at the cost of a extremely long enervation debuff.(It helps that there's planned pc pregnancy for kitsune kits tbh—I just hope that it's not restricted to kitsune champs, though
That something bad is probably a sword through the neck.Perhaps the parents could have been faceless and they had the child while they were banished and then something bad happened to them
Yeah, if you did want to keep it fox themed you could try a vulperien, the lupine equivalent of foxes, maybe make it one the fox collective doesnt want to seem maimed.Again if your goal is to make a child for the player to interact with I don't see why it specifically needs to be a kitsune. Cat kid sounds nice. There are lots of them coming and going through the marches and I'm sure there are lots of ways to come up with adorable, heart wrenching ways to meet and adopt them. Maybe something to proc Cait's maternal instincts.Alright, alright—you've convinced me. I will go for a tiny cat child then. Catfolk content isn't oversaturated, too, right ??
When I had my heart set on a kitsune child, I was gonna give him the name "Hikaru" (which means light or brightness). I even gave him a fitting appearance to boot: blond hair and gold eyes. (I'll probably give him bronze skin on top of that tbh.) His new name, though, is Nuri. It's Arabic and Turkish in origin and it means my light. How cute is that!Cat kid sounds nice. That sounds soooo adorable, I really look forward to reading the rough draft for meeting them. When I had my heart set on a kitsune child, I was gonna give him the name "Hikaru" (which means light or brightness). Omg, same !! (Might take me a while, though, because I'm often busy with school, rip.) Right now I'm trying to figure out where would be the best area to place him because I don't want him to be too far from Jassira because I don't think that that would make a whole lot of sense for a young child who's been forced to be on his own. I also have to think about his backstory. How recently was he orphaned? What lives did his parents have in Jassira? Did they worship Mallach or did their family conform to Belharan beliefs? With how often royalty or nobility reveals appear to be, I definitely wanna keep his background humble. Hmm, maybe his parents could have been shopkeeps that lived on the outskirts of the city! And they traveled in search of something that would vastly improve their fortune but they ended up getting killed for their efforts. With no other next of kin to speak of, our poor cat son was forced to live on the streets and the rest, as they say, was history...That sounds soooo adorable, I really look forward to reading the rough draft for meeting them.
I think it would make perfect sense considering Jassira is waaaay down south and the Marches are waaaay up north he's going to be pretty far from home no matter where in the Marches you put him. Still leaves room for a lot of possibilities for his parents to be traveling merchants or entertainers or mercenaries or even drifters. He would have to be orphaned fairly recently though as I don't think a small child could survive in the marches on their own for very long.Right now I'm trying to figure out where would be the best area to place him because I don't want him to be too far from Jassira because I don't think that that would make a whole lot of sense for a young child who's been forced to be on his own.
Thank you for your input but no need to worry—this isn't my first rodeo. I roleplay in my free time and I've read quite a number of books on writing so, I think that I would be able to handle it if I pace myself. They say to write what you like and one of the things that I love most about the game is the wholesomeness that happens every now and then—hence why I feel so inspired to go for a Found Family sort of vibe.I do feel like, what is the word, having a child character without the parent involved will feel aqward and maybe out of place in a porn game. Kinu (young one) worked because she was located in a place far, far removed from all porn game happenings that usually follow the player.
Also, I think you should really start small for your first project. But that does sound cute, so if you could make it work, I will be more than happy.
Oh, well then, that is way more writing experience than what my sorry state ever found itself in.Thank you for your input but no need to worry—this isn't my first rodeo. I can see how that could be worrying so, I'll def consider it! I plan to have repeatable events, in fact, where the champ can stumble upon the kiddo interacting with the townsfolk for the "it takes a village to raise a child" sort of vibe. This is also meant to show that he's not cooped up all day in one spot. Little kids often have high energy so, I think that would make sense for that reason as well ngl.Oh, well then, that is way more writing experience than what my sorry state ever found itself in.
Hmmm, still, I know that this is pushing it way out of line to what you are suggesting, but the reason why you writing a kid NPC is because you like the idea of interacting with one, yes? So would it necessary for them to be an orphan without a caretaker? Maybe have another NPC have some kind of role in raising him, with champion being the person that helps relationship develop smoothly between them which also leads you to kid looking up to you as another parent figure? Maybe have someone like River or Ogrish in town be his caretaker, but they can not seem to connect on him on personal level which is where the champ comes in. Or anyone that comes to your mind. Hell, maybe it could be that the boy has only one parent, a struggling dad that does not know how to do the whole being a "single dad" thing. It would also allow you to write 4 types of relationship, one between you and the child, one between you and the caretaker, between them both and between you 3. Now, this is scale creep if I ever wrote one, but just something I thought about. It would also maybe reduce the uneasiness of leaving kid alone for a long periods of time without someone really close to him to take care of. While champion is fortunate enough to have many wonderful people that would help them in taking care of a kid while they are away, having someone that is especially close to your adopted child may make the long stretches of absent time far more bearable/understandable.
I know that this maybe me throwing a lot at you, but I feel since you are in early stages of development, it is better to throw this now rather than when you really start doing the work.
No.if such an npc is allowed
To clarify: is that a no for child npcs, in general?
At least in the framework described in this thread -- the PC effectively adopting a random unrelated child. To paraphrase our discussion in the dev server: adopting a kid as part of a relationship arc with an adult NPC who is their parent, probably fine. Random kid? No.To clarify: is that a no for child npcs, in general?
So, hypothetically-speaking, if I were to rework my idea for an npc and give him a living parent that the champ can romance, I can be allowed to turn in my submission? At least in the framework described in this thread -- the PC effectively adopting a random unrelated child. This is really just the sort of content that doesn't have a place in a porn game.
Probably, yes.So, hypothetically-speaking, if I were to rework my idea for an npc and give him a living parent that the champ can romance, I can be allowed to turn in my submission?
Sweet! I'll make the parent a hot dilf then.Probably, yes.
Fixed that for you and fuck yes, you do that.Sweet! I'll make the parent a hot DILF then.
