I was wondering if we could talk to Gwyn about her mother Gwyer to help to fix their relationship.
Don't. Just don't. I did that once and she freaked out, badly.I was wondering if we could talk to Gwyn about her mother Gwyer to help to fix their relationship.
I see:/.Don't. Just don't. I did that once and she freaked out, badly.
It's going nowhere, as that story is already considered concluded by the authors, I believe.
I wished I could help her with somethingThis isn't something the champ can fix, trusted as we are by both parties.
Same, trust me a lot of people do.I wished I could help her with something
I guessed it does take time for Gwyn to get used to her mother company. It’s a start, but we’re not thereThe champ is someone thrust into the role of hero, while they may be able to help others, familial matters are a whole different demon.
The problem with demons is that if you don't lay them to rest, then they'll haunt you for the rest of your life. The champ is someone thrust into the role of hero, while they may be able to help others, familial matters are a whole different demon.
Her mother did what she had to do,
Sanders did nothing wrongGweyr did nothing wrong. Except maybe child abandonment, but everyone's doing it. It's Hawkethorne's most popular parenting method.
I view it differently, I think a few other people to tho I'm not sure. He's the one that said you gotta go etc I know it was for her well-being but still.Sanders did nothing wrong
There wasn't many to to stop him and most likely other factors that we don't know about.IMO the only "right" thing to do would have been to have stopped Tollus before it got that bad in the first place.
So what if the brainwashing stayed after stopping him they weren't the same person she did what had to be done, people die, you call her a monster but she did as she was trained she dosen't knock people down like the Champion does.I called Gweyr a monster, but for what it's worth her enemies are infinitely more so if you ask me.
I talking about Hawkthorne’s most popular parenting strategy. And how Sander’s had no control over how his own turned outI view it differently, I think a few other people to tho I'm not sure. He's the one that said you gotta go etc I know it was for her well-being but still.
Misunderstanding. He didn't even know so he didn't abandon his kid.I talking about Hawkthorne’s most popular parenting strategy. And how Sander’s had no control over how his own turned out.
It was a shit situation all around. Somehow I get the feeling that if Gweyr managed to stay, someone would've tried to shank her with her back turned.Sanders is definitely is the wrong. What right did he have to decide her fate so cruelly? What, because she did everyone a favour and got rid of a bunch of fucked up brats and stopped an innocent from being sacrificed.. she didn't abandon her children by choice.

I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in and say that exiling Gweyr was not the best option or the right call, though she probably would've left anyway to pursue Tollus and Sanders just gave her no choice. Yes she slaughtered the youth of the village and treated them like grist to be milled, but they were trying to sacrifice an innocent. Gweyr's actions, while monstrous, were the best course of action. She gave them plenty of chances and warnings to stand down. By exiling her, Sanders sent a message that you can step all over Hawkethorne and they'll punish their defenders. Them being stupid kids doesn't recontextualize or excuse their actions at all. And by exiling Gweyr and keeping the whole thing in the closet next to that oddly placed skeleton, He set Tollus up to be able to come back in later and no one knew who he was or what he was doing. It's just speculation, but I feel if Gweyr were still in the village then Tollus might not have been able to sacrifice Calla right down the road. And even then, Gweyr was the best protection Hawkethorne had until now. Sanders made a terrible call and the events of the game could have potentially been avoided, though we'll never know for sure. And if the parents of the cultists she killed really wanted revenge, then they would've done so regardless of exile. If anything, her being kicked out would've emboldened them since they know she wouldn't be there to protect her family and that she wouldn't find out for a while and give them time to flee. In short, while violent, Gweyr made the best call and Sanders let his emotions and panic cause him to make a really bad call. Those cultists were not innocent children of Hawkethorne. They made the call to kidnap an innocent girl, prepare to sacrifice her, ignore warnings from the experienced mercenary who just cut a bloody swath to their main barricade, and do their best to ensure that girls demise. Gweyr was right and did nothing wrong. Sanders was wrong and did things wrong.
She never really got her chance to be a parent, she didn't get to see them grow and missed out on a lot of moments.Gwyer probably isn't a great parent. But I don't think anyone in Hawkethorne is really.
That's what I was saying earlier.Sanders is definitely is the wrong. What right did he have to decide her fate so cruelly? What, because she did everyone a favour and got rid of a bunch of fucked up brats and stopped an innocent from being sacrificed.. she didn't abandon her children by choice.

Plus the whole parental abandonment thing
I don't even know if this relationship ever can be fixed tbh.
Don't think that's the best idea. This family seems to have a thing for solving problems with violence and that hasn't really gone so well.Given a few more years and Gweyr's famed persistence, who knows? They're already living under the same roof and having short, non-shouting interactions with each other, it seems like they're making good progress.
Personally I reckon they need to fight it out. Give Gwyn the opportunity to try and smack the old woman around a bit and see if that helps at all.
I don't know about there was that one time that Gweyr chased Tullus all the way around the Marches and up into the Rift, and that worked out fine.Don't think that's the best idea. This family seems to have a thing for solving problems with violence and that hasn't really gone so well.
