I just can't wait until we're actually able to decide the war ourselves.

I do hope we can take over ourselves with the help of Taivra and some weapons smuggled in under the guise of being materials needed for a more proper wedding than what we got with the Codex basically just filing paperwork.

For the use of gas weapon, you need to remember than they were banned AFTER their use in the First World War in our world, then, they were not illegal when they were used, that mean they never broke the ant-Geneva convention because it doesn't exist

Actually gas weapons were banned before World War one. However it was discovered there was a loophole that allowed them to use gas then as the war dragged on they began using it  even in the way it was banned.

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but has anyone been able to beat the, what I assume to be, final boss of Kara's Quest? I'm playing a maxed out techie and it feels absolutely hopeless. I've tried so many times already. Every time I try, Kara always seems to "die." Is she meant to be unbeatable, or is it my build setup?

Have you tried using the Biowhip or lust attacks?

Not yet, no. I assumed it was a lost case because all of the enemies had 10 lust to start off with. I might try that if I absolutely cannot get anything else to work. Might have to grind tease. Thanks for the reply.

NP, the Biowhip is best 4 strikes at most I think and she's down.

I used the Goozooker, took down Amara in 3 shots.

Turns out power armor is, indeed, very resistant to small arms fire.

Speaking of.  Where are we going from here with Kinetic Melee weapons?    Chainswords?  Vibroblades?  That big honking Axe in the Field Marshals office?    Working Rocket Hammer 2.0  with Gravity Manipulation functionality that lets you ride it like a witches broom and swing it like it weigh 10 pounds and hit with it like it weigh 1000?

I mean we're at lava swords and all.

I've done some Energy Kinetic weapons based around weaponized hardlight.  Gravity manipulation is a thing, so a gravity hammer should be feasible.

Do you think we'll ever see weapons based around the accelerating of a projectile to near light-speeds? Or perhaps different variations of the rail-guns currently in the game? Sorry if I'm prying, but I really, really enjoy hard sci-fi weaponry and armor. It's all so cool!

Indeed, although it does make me a little sad that we can't out fight her conventionally or tactically; however, it's good game design to have the player have to change their tactics around a bit, and I appreciate that!

Accelerating a projectile to near-lightspeed is indeed a good way to vaporize the target.  And the building they're standing in.  Probably the city.  Maybe a fair chunk of the planet.  It's a little overkill, basically.

For a bit of math: a 2 gram bullet moving at 0.5c delivers 7.44*10^14 joules of energy upon impact, akin to 178 kilotons of TNT.

Impact? It would be destroyed by ablation immediately.

Ablation? From what googling gave me, it's the elimination of ice/snow by melting/evaporation.

Do you mean the bullet would be vaporized if fired at near-lightspeed, or that the target would be vaporized?

Ablation is removal of material from the surface of an object by vaporization, chipping, or other erosive processes. Examples of ablative materials are described below, and include spacecraft material for ascent and atmospheric reentry, ice and snow in glaciology, biological tissues in medicine and passive fire protection materials. © Wikipedia

Our case is vaporization under effect of atmospheric friction. So first, the bullet itself would be instantly vaporized. Guess where energy goes.

Both.  Air friction would convert that energy to heat and everything within a few miles would melt.

I'll take these answers as a definitive "no." However, considering that gravity manipulation is a thing, would that imply that the current era (regarding the in-game era) technology is able to manipulate mass (as specified by the equation Fg=G(m1m2)/r^2 which is the newton law for universal gravitational forces)  and therefore be able to manipulate it to a negligent amount? In addition, what would happen if you were to contain the projectile in a hardlight shielding? I'm assuming of course that the item lives up to it's name- especially since it's implied to be a catch all (imo). Just a few key things I noticed.

Sorry if it's a lot of questions, I am reeaaally into things like this.

If you reduce the mass then you reduce the damage, so it's just a regular bullet only more complicated for no reason.  Hardlight shielding shouldn't do anything to stop it from causing the detonation.

Now, you could use hardlight to deliver an energy discharge of variable strength, since the hardlight has energy that should be dispersed when it leaves the range of its projector.  One of the Foundry weapons is a bow that shoots Light Arrows by using hardlight arrows that use a lot of energy in their formation and thus explode when they decohere.

What if you were to reduce the speed of the projectile to speeds such as perhaps 1-10% of the speed of light? Would that negate the ablative effect of the atmosphere due to the lower velocity causing much less collision with the particles?

On a side note, that hardlight bow sounds absolutely baller. What I wouldn't give to get my hands on that kind of tech.

If you really want something exotic and devastating at same time - why limit yourself?

What about Some Ausuarilic? Staff rifles.   Or a good old fashion Space Drill sword or lance. Or monomolecular random super hard metal mega material  vibro katana with gun trigger iajutsu action! (doesn't that remind you of something. ).  Or Giant Scissor jaws of death.  Though this kinda seems to miss the point of Low tech Solutions.

View attachment 2770 Please tell me it has rails on it.

You could order personal model with rails as soon as Stellar Furnace, inc. negotiation with U.G.C. would be done! They are against us selling WMD-tier weapons to civilians for some reason.

I would be inclined to argue that writing for a sci-fi porn game, or sci-fi anything really, makes you a bigger nerd than those who merely discuss science stuff casually.

I do believe Savin was using irony.

You can't have both.  Either it's moving at relativistic speeds or it's safe to use without detonating the atmosphere.  A bullet moving at 0.01c is still going to produce the equivalent of two tons of TNT.  Note that such a bullet is moving at approximately ten thousand times the speed of sound.
