Which of River's song are worth buying? Any? Depends on build/level?

I just started a new game as a Noble Scion Thief.

I assume you mean the Charmer class Powers he can train? If so, Allure (level 2) and War Song (level 1) that you can later swap to Song of Splendor (level 4) are great for dealing Resolve damage if you have high Sexiness and Temptation. Bolstering Dance (level 1) and Soothing Dance (level 4) will give you great Resolve healing.

The effects for all those abilities are calculated based on Presence and don't seem to be effected by Spellpower, so you can spend the rest of your points on bolstering your physical stats.

If you want to break the immersion of a Bard teaching the PC magical songs and all the work I put into the thread's title fitting the theme of the character, sure. Let's go with "Charmer class Powers".

There's also Song of Storms. The description only states the target weapon deals bonus Storm damage with no other details.

Now THAT'S good to know, thanks.

Song of Storms gives whoever you cast it on bonus damage equal to your spellpower so presence is useless for that one and willpower directly improves it. It's really good in the ghost dungeon if you want to bring Brint along because normally he is pure physical damage and that does not do well against ghosts.

Edit: by bonus damage I mean bonus damage on physical/weapon attacks/powers only not spells.

Half of what you learn aren't songs, though, which is for the best. Afer all, as a great Cat Lizard once said, a true Bard can sing, dance, paint, prance, make a pretty sand drawing with a lance; use plenty of ways to further enchance the battlefield if given the right chance.

River also sings to you for money, a very surpsising and welcome pure roleplay feature, even though he refuses to deliver the best and rowdiest tavern classics. In any case, because paying for those songs is even an option, for the longest time I was fertain that listening to them gives some hidden buffs. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Going back to a more crunchy subject, Song of Storms does indeed stand out as one of the two magic damage buffs for weapons (of we exclude items), and the only buff of that nature the player character can give to a companion. If hanging in the back and relying on your party members for damage is the playstyle you want to go for, Song of Courage (level 4 at-will power) is half decent, giving extra Attack Power, Focus and Mental Resistance to every ally, with some minor healing thrown in for good measure. It also doesn't require Willpower, since the formula for all of its effects uses Presence.

Though the absolute best tool you can have as a cheerleader champion is White Mage's Blessing (level 2 recharge power). Flat +10 to Accuracy and +100 to both Spellpower and Attack Power. Plus plenty of fun possibilities for imagining just what exactly does your character do to motivate his companions that well.

The "problem with blessing is that it is for a single attack and it raises attack/spellpower meaning it does not add or change the damage type and it has a long cooldown. That being said it has a lot going for it and it is unaffected by stats which is good for now although it means it will not be nearly as effective at high levels. Also if you are going for a bard blessing thematically doesn't really fit xD.

It definitely requires some set up, and watching your companion's powered up attack miss is quite a bummer. However the +10 Accuracy part of the buff helps prevent quite a few instances of the latter, and a 200÷ damage Cleave from one of your fighters just deletes full scores of opponents of equal and lower level.

As for the issues with its flavour fitting the bard-like class, I personally don't see any. Based on their description, most of the gods in Savarra sound like they will be amused and pleased by a cheeky mortal trying to curry their favor with a sexy song and dance. Mallach especially should be more than okay with his magic being channeled that way.

I suppose I can see that in a way still kinda grates on me but that's just me. And yeah Bless is a great spell but I personally prefer song of storms both for what it does and for rp. The best answer is clearly to take song of storms on your char then take Ryn in her healer set with blessing and then just watch Brint or Arona nuke everything. Now that I think about it I should probably try that. Actually chieftain Arona has a copy of Bless so she can even buff herself.

Perhaps a future title that River can bestow on the Champion is something like 'Polisher of the Sceptres and Orbs of Office', what with all this regalia that needs constant attention.
No title would better fit a bumbling mastermind behind all the new political leaders in the region, lol. Make it an achievement too.

Also, I would really like for confident Ryn to goof around with PC someday, refering to each other along the lines of this and her previous title. Just to show that all the past hurtful shit really no longer holds sway over her, and because I think it would be super endearing and adorable.

Arona is fine too, I guess. :p

She kinda does this if she's got high Confidence and you get eaten out, but more stuff like that would always be welcome.

And my Champion I'm setting up to marry Ryn whenever that gets into the game would gladly take the title Duchess of the Rim from Ryn as well. She spoils that hole rotten already, might as well let everyone else know it too.
