I have a couple of things I wanted to say about tits development and its change from coc 1. Very noticeably tits is focusing on uninteresting characters . there's really only a handful of interesting characters and their stories don't seem to have progressed much in half a decade. coc 1 had a very homely integration of party members. the crew in tits barely interact with each other at all which is a real snooze fest. really the only interesting girls syri, anno, saendra, kiro, and kaede. the rest are just plot characters which got progressively uninteresting or special racial creatures (that hold anything interesting about them that is). now I love what the creator has made with tits but its disheartening to see it go this way. kinda hoping savin does something amazing with coc 2 but it seems its going to be a while before any major updates. In coc 1 every character was interesting, their interactions with each other and you was amazing. I cant think of an uninteresting character in coc 1. in tits there are whole floors of uninteresting people and locations. my only concern is what the focus is in coc 2 for character development and stories.

I think that you should come to understand one thing - there are thousands of people who playing CoC and TiTS, and each and every one of them has their own different opinion on characters, themes, fetishes etc. Which means that your opinion is an absolute truth only for you, but not for them. And if you want to play a perfectly interesting game... Well, you can always make such game yourself, you know? Write your own interesting world, story and characters (just like all those writers who make "uninteresting" content for CoC and TiTS), and enjoy!

I disagree with literally everything you just said, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Being that I've been watching you guys since the early days of coc 1 can you explain why you disagree? I love all the characters you make and cait is your star i can see. shes great and i believe you'll continue making great characters. but I don't think you will be the only one creating characters.

I would rather pay for a game I like.

Well, that's an option too. Hire a bunch of writers, find a good coder, and tell them to make for you a perfect game. But that's not really gonna work with CoC and TiTS, because they're made by many different people (every one of whom has their own vision of "interestingness", which they're putting in their works) and for many different people (every one of whom also has their own vision of "interestingness").

And, you know, maybe you should write some sort of analytic review, and specify there in details, what exactly you don't like about every character that you find boring, and how every specific author can improve their writing to make their characters interesting. If they'll listen to your recomendations, you'll get a more interesting game for you, and if not... Well, maybe then you'll understand how does it feels, when you spend lots of effort on something and then someone shits on it.

Hire people? I just want to buy a game. Yes I've been out of touch with how they really went about making these text adventures. Still isn't there a main creator? One who thinks of the world? who accepts what gets written in? I could explain why I find all those characters boring. I'd rather focus on what makes the good characters so interesting and encourage characters like that. I'd never try to talk to someone about writing differently. That's just an absurd thing to do.

Being that I've been watching you guys since the early days of coc 1 can you explain why you disagree?

Because 95% of CoC1's characters were cardboard flat smut dispensers. They weren't interesting at all outside of the fetishes they provided. They were memorable, certainly, (Mister X. from Resident Evil 2 is memorable, too, and all he does is Koolaid Man through walls and power walk at you) but making an argument that they were deep and developed characters is speaking from a place of raw nostalgia. The reason you remember them so fondly is because they were likely the first time you were exposed to these fetishes in this sort of game environment.

Let's take Sophie for example. She's my favorite waifu from CoC1... but she has literally no character development at all. The only thing that differentiates her from every other harpy in the setting is that she's a big titty milf instead of a smol titty milf. Her entire character "arc" is you asking her to come to your camp... to which she says yes so that she can get easier dick 24/7. Aaaand that's the end of her story. Hell even if you bimbofy her and then unbimbofy her, she'll still just huff about it and then resume being a smut dispenser with no rammifications.

How about Amily, everyone's favorite breeder mouse? The whole reason she wants to get with you is to save her species... but she'll happily change her species if you don't like furries. Because she exists to dispense smut scenes, nothing else.

Well surely Isabella, the traveler from another world, must have a deep and compelling sto-- oh, she also has 0 character development and just sits around sucking smol dicks all day, and moves to your camp to... get more dick.

You get my point, yes? If you actually look critically at most of the cast, even the camp followers, what you see are flat characters with a bare minimum of story to them -- if any at all. The reactivity and interaction you mention TiTS lacking doesn't exist in CoC1 at all; few if any characters ever interacted with each other in camp. The only time that changed was near the very end of the game's life cycle, when threesome queen Helia arrived and then Bath Slut's public milk bath were added. By that point Sophie had been in camp for literal years and hadn't said a word to anybody else in camp. Marble had one scene where she got jealous of Amily... but if you brought in any waifu except her, Marble didn't say a word. How could she, when none of those characters existed by the time her author abandoned working on her?

There are a handful of exceptions, of course: Helia and Urta have the opportunity to grow as characters over their quest lines, and Kiha probably has the most impactful character arc of anybody in the cast. But they make up a tiny portion of the characters in the game.

Now, you're correct in saying that TiTS has the same "problem," if you want to call it that. TiTS' cast is several times larger than CoCs, but it maintains about the same percentage of flat smut-dispensing characters... which is to say, the overwhelming majority. A few like Syri and Reaha have the chance to grow and change over the course of the game, but nearly every character you meet in town exists for the exact same reason people like Edryn and Cinnibar and Roxanne existed in CoC1: they're gonna put out fetish text porn scenes when you click buttons. Otherwise, they're just flat faces. That's all they were ever meant to be.

Ah sophie, yes she never had a lot to her but it's what she did and everything that she was involved in that I liked from coc 1. Closes thing to her in tits is penny but penny doesn't interact with anyone meaningful other than Steele. It's been so long since I played coc 1 but for amily I thought it was the corruption that bended her will to do as you please, which was so great. While Isabella didnt have much it was what she was interested in that was so odd and compelling.
Still I'd love for Syri to have more content. And be able to come on board the ship permanently unless shes able now. I loved all the camp characters in coc 1 but all the characters I like so much in tits are unable to become crew members. Anno is basically the only crew member able to interact with other crew members.
I can tell tits has more writing over coc 1. However since the crew list is so vast the characters I find interesting don't get much added to them.

Honestly what makes CoC's characters stand out even when pressed up against many of the technically-more-robust TiTS characters is the simple fact that CoC itself was a game of discovery and finding these characters at all was a bit of an adventure and then learning more about them through their limited bits of content and smut-dispending was also a bit of an adventure. Like it was all so disconnected and chaotic that getting through each character's content required you to do something completely different.

TiTS really just shoves it all in your face, it's a fetish carnival, everything's out in the open and easy, all you have to do is go up to a character and click fuck and they'll probably say alright then. There's a very standardized feel to much of the content and that sense of discovering these characters within the context of exploring this weird-fuckin-place and then figuring out what this smut-dispenser of a character was going to be about and throw at you next is all but absent. Many of the stories might be better and the world might be a bit more coherent and the erotic content may even be better but that makes it all a bit dull - that way of delivering it ironically makes content intended to be less smut-dispensing feel more smut-dispensy.

The main thing I'm hoping CoC2 regains is that sense of adventure in finding characters and discovering what off-the-wall structural idea that particular author had for delivering that character's content. Right now a good many of the characters feel TiTSy, they're just "hey here are my talk scenes and fuck scenes, just go through them whenever", but then there are some characters like Kiyoko where you go through this whole quest and the structure of her content is obviously very specific and gradual. I'm guessing that's because The Observer was really more of a Fall of Eden (which is probably more of a true successor to CoC's style than TiTS is) contributor, so there's less of an obvious TiTS influence than you can see in someone like Brint or Cait.
