What happened to attack descriptions during battles?

I remember when a character made their move, it would describe the character doing that move along with if an attack connects or not. Now, the best is the character doing a move and a number is an attack connects. What happened to describing battles?

Go into the options menu and turn "Simple Combat Output" to "Off".
