What does "easy mode" do exactly?

Hello, I was wondering what does the easy mode in options (right next to the silly mode option) do, mainly if it affects bad ends somehow, I'm not interested in easier combat, but I'd for sure turn it on if it made bad ends still playable or something, as I'm not the best at saving my game periodically.

What does any Easy Mode do? You take less damage in combat (50% less, IIRC). It affects Bad Ends insofar as it makes them highly avoidable.

You really, really, REALLY, REALLY want to save your game often when you're playing TiTS. Avoiding Bad Ends is the least of your worries.

That reminds me... Is easymode a possibility for botheric addicts to still finish that quest? Turn it on, go meet the last quat, turn it off, go to the meeting?

Easy Mode adds 50% to all of Steele's resistances for the purposes of applying damage in combat and, so far as I can tell, affects literally nothing else.

Nope. The only options to avoid the Bad End are to either not go to the meeting at all, save edit bothrioc addiction below 100 before meeting Fei An, or to save edit the flag that results in the Bad End to undefined after meeting her.

Using a TF that screws up your entire look when you only wanted one specific thing, getting a ship on Tarkus or Myrellion sells your current ship because they don't have any garage storage for your pimped out rides, clicking the wrong button and pissing an NPC off so much you can't interact with them anymore...

Excuse me if this is a stupid question but why is there something in the game whose condition is only applicable if you save edit? I'm a tad confused by this.

Probably because Bothrioc addiction is one of those cases where its quite easy to build up that addiction, at least in earlier builds, because the Bothriocs tended to spam that immobilising attack and made it far more likely to lose. Essentially, addiction should be a choice, not one forced onto the player.

Yeah, I get the addiction bit but it's not quite what I'm asking. In essence, why is there content only accessible by cheating? It doesn't make sense... or maybe I'm not making sense of the context. My familiarity with the bothrioc is not that great, but I do want a TF for them at some point.

They're talking about using the save editor in this case to AVOID a bad end, it is unavoidable with 100 bothroic addiction. If Steele has 100 bothroic addiction, Steele will be made a bitch.

Oh, okay cool, for some reason I just couldn't connect the dots that addicts would need to save edit to avoid said bad end. Isn't there a way to lower the addiction without save-editing though?

Prior to 100? Yeah, go to Charles at the bothroic embassy and get some Crudzonwhey. No sure if I spelled it correctly, but yes, it is a Miss Muffet joke. At 100, it's locked and you get a Perk, like with Red Myr venom addiction.
