Hi, new guy here in the forums.

I played Melee!Merc and swiss cheesed everyone in my journey (that includes Riya's Juggernaut, Amara Faell, and Doctor Lash).

While I rest this character for now (waiting for the next updates heh), what other class/play-style should I play next?

Give Tech specialist a try. For more offense, go drone. If you want to be almost impossible to take down, go shield. Just be careful, Merc's have the best skills, Take Cover and Second Wind. Smugglers and Techs are a lot more vulnerable when their shields go down.

Smugglers are evasion bots, when built properly their evasion can exceed 60%. They need to cc their opponent to deal damage, which on one hand gives them a LOT of additional survivability, and defense ignoring damage, on the other hand they are dependent on being able to inflict a cc that the opponent doesn't resist.

I totally recommend a Melee Tech.

And if you didn't know, Ranged Mercs are stronger than Melee.

Ranged Mercs? How so?

I can see using the Aegis Light Machinegun and the perks that support it, but Emmy's Vamp Blade is quite nice too!

Rapid Fire, Concentrate and Armor Piercing usually means any non boss enemy goes down in 2 or 3 rounds. The Samurian Railgun is also a WTFBBQ powerful.

- Armour Piercing, not exactly a big punch, but the extra damage to shields help.
- Rapid Fire, reduced accuracy: yes, but considering the emphasis for a Ranged Merc is on AIM and there are some items to help improve accuracy, that's definitely a plus.
- Take Cover, three turns of taking next to no damage, beautiful.
- Heavy Weapon, a large boost to the damage of kinetic firearms, that's nothing to sneeze at.
- Concentrate, increasing damage in consecutive hits.
- Second Shot, does what exactly it says on the tin. Combine that with Rapid Fire and you can pump out an insane amount of damage.

The Samurian Railgun and the Stormbull Shotgun are generally considered to be the top tier weapons for a Ranged Merc, just for the insane damage.

Yeah, Melee Mercs are good, but Ranged Mercs just steamroll over anything.

The Samurian Railgun? I never got my hands on that.

After reading up on the wiki, it seems I gotta hang out with Chaurmine for a while.

I should note that if you're using a Vamp Blade as a Merc, you're nerfing yourself.

I do use it on my character, a Techie, even though it's still fairly weak, because it's Greater Draining is fantastic for a Techie and Charge Weapon makes up for it's power.

Huh.

If I want to further the cheesing of my Melee!Merc, I gotta get the Saurmorian Hammer.

Man, Chaurmine got all the good stuff, doesn't he?

Uh. Is there a way to get the weapons without occasionally giving him handjobs? My dude isn't gaj.

brojobs aren't gay.

That said, you might (I've not tested this at all) be able to get his relationship score up just by guarding his ass while he fucks a rask.
