What are the differences between the possible characters you can hire for the Dungeoneering and Wayfort Upgrades sidequests?

Is it just mainly flavor text or is one character objectively better for one reason or another?

Different characters offer their help for different prices, some of them may offer a lower price if you meet certain conditions and some are only available at all if you've done certain prerequisites but at the end of the day who does what for your Wayfort upgrades doesn't have any material impact. The wiki has a comprehensive list if you're interested in seeing the numbers in one place.

Dungeoneering has no cost difference between the enchanters you can ask, so it's all just flavor text.

Ah, thanks! I somehow missed that part of the guide lmao. Guess the Hornet Ring isn't the only thing I miss vital information about

I always think of it as a pity that the only changes a player might notice regarding this is in monetary value, lots of great potential not being used there.

Writing that many different lines for something rather trivial would be a mind boggling task and that's why I understand it hasn't been done, but I nonetheless would have really cherished the options to customize the wayfort a bit more that way.
I.E.: Regarding choosing a tailor I could see Telfir designing the banners, carpets and such exactly the way it's described currently in-game after the upgrades are done - cool tones of blue, elegant and regal looking, kinda same style as Winter City. Nelia - if given free reign on the job -would surely have chosen a different approach, choosing warmer colors and pursuing a more homely and cozy atmosphere.
Just consider the possible result if all given roles would have been treated that way…

But as already said, would have been a steep task for a rather trivial content part. It's just something I'm quite a sucker for in games.
