That game. It's a great fucking game. It has delivered, at least for me.

So, lets discuss it.

Make sure to have your spoiler marking skills handy.

It's a good game and GOTY though it tries really hard to be silly at points and I dunno what's with indie games and making everyone gay

Plenty of times the mood swings came close to being jarring, but I personally never got any mood whiplashes. As for making everyone gay..

Yeh that's strange IMO too, I mean in the end (provided enough people are left alive) we got twice as many same sex couples as we got straight, and it's counting.

Sans/Toriel, and it's quite a stretch. But for the most part, I was just said that Asgore can't end up fixing his marriage.

Heartwarming in places, depressing in others, downright terrifying in some. Definitely compelling, no matter what tone it's taking with you.

Seriously, though, Flowey scares the shit out of me.

lol if you think that's a couple

Meh, I really don't like it, I mean sure, you can spare the enemies but, that's it. Where's the blood and gore? Where's the fucked up things?  The only thing I liked was the robot guy,  but I think it's way to overhyped, I can't wait until dies out tbh

Get a new gimmick, by the way.

You owe to yourself then to try/look up the NM/G run, just to see

things that  can  scare  the  shit  out  of  Flowey himself

Why not, exactly, assuming we look past obvious biological problems? They have a lot in common. Caring, protective, super strong and horribly puntastic. Both aren't exactly interested in romance by the time dust settles, but who knows. In any case, we all know how 'shipping' people generally tend to be.

I like Undertale for the fact that I actually want to play it again after completing it (not talking about the different paths), unlike a certain french rpg that I'm thinking of that just made me sad to the point of never wanting to hear the opposite of the word On be used as a singular noun ever again.

Could you please give us a non-spoilery version of your reasoning?

Good thing Toby didn't set the protagonist gender. Or is it a bad thing?

Aside from kid dating sim, Undertale isn't the sort of 'HD graphics' mainstream game but it makes up for its tremendous replay value.

After learning what really LOVE and EXP was, I carried myself to go full genocide. But still, 9 year old brat dating Skeltal bros. and fish mangirl was pretty intriguing somehow?

Pacifism/mixed route is super fun, funny, touching, and well-scored, although it's a little weird that the full pacifist ending path is only available if you get a more neutral ending and then load.
Genocide route is boring grinding punctuated by emotional gutpunch and two insane difficulty spikes, and then the game dicks your save files FOREVER. So just watch a path comparison video on YouTube really.

Also there's such a torrent of Rule 34 for this game. I'm pretty pleased about it.

It's progressive. No amount of media representation is enough! But eh, none of them felt forced or token, so I think it's fine.

I guess it's more just fun and silly, like in an unexpected way. I mean, imagine if those scenes were played with straight couples. Kinda loses its impact, doesn't it?

No...? That's a pretty weird point of view, in my opinion.

loved the game. saw everything there is to see and loved it all, save genocide but i appreciated it.

i doubt the characters were planned to be gay sometimes things just kinda und up that way. to me if Toby had written about characters after deciding theu were gay it'd feel forced how a decent amount of other games are.

Undertale also got me into Earthbound-likes like Space Funeral and LISA the Painful RPG which i'm watching an LP of.

TFS just did a Renegade For Life playthrough of Undertale and it's pretty awesome.

It feels like the game got some excessive credit for supposedly introducing concepts that already existed in games before, but it's easy to appreciate the author's intent and the way the game leans on and just pours through the fourth wall while retaining consistency is pretty amazing.

... The level of goat porn that flooded the internet because of it, though...

I checked on E621, there's 1000+ pics tagged with "toriel". (Which is quite alot as the game was released like 3 months ago.)

*sighs* I'm late to the party it seems. Still, I do wanna share my thoughts with those who haven't moved on.

I fuckin' love this game. I absolutely ADORE this game. Never have I ever thought I'd find a new obsession for 10 dollars. I'm even having a hard time just thinking what I should say I like about the game first. The easiest way to sum it up is that Undertale reminds you that you can feel emotions. IT MAKES YOU FEEL, MAN!!! (ﺧ益ﺨ)

Don't do a genocide run. I went crazy trying to reset the game after witnessing the post-genocide pacifist run. Tried deleting files on my local drive, on the steam cloud, tried weird computer commands  'cause I'm that zealous of the characters/story (no idea what I was doing) Nothing worked.

Just don't do it. Watch someone else do it so you get off guilt free.
