Trapped in Zheng Shi

So I just found the probe in Zheng Shi (and fought the Jumper leader) and was ready to go out and do other things when I ran into a major problem. I cannot figure out how I'm supposed to get back to my ship. The scaffolding and the foundry levels are the only ones I can access, and I can't find a way to head back to the mines/hangar area of Zheng Shi.

When you exit the Pirate ship (the one you fought the Jumper leader on), do you see an icon of stairs to the north on the map? That's an elevator (you'll have to remove some blockage). Go down twice.

Don't you have to take that elevator into the Foundry in the first place? I know I did... stupid Arachno-Mech

Depends on how you get in. If you sneak in disguised as a slave, you don't technically take the elevator, but it can be used afterward. Conveniently, someone repaired it while you were busy. The doors at the Scaffolding can only be unblocked from the other side, but if you're already up there...

And I now feel like a complete moron. I somehow missed that I could keep going down on the elevator.
