TiTS JS performance issues?

I've noticed that ever since TiTS was moved over to java my phone and other devices do not run it as well, regardless of using the browser version or the new app. Visually it runs fine but my devices produce way more heat as if I'm playing a 3D game or something. My main mobile devices are the Pixel 4a and the latest Amazon Fire HD 10+ model, and while those are not the most performant devices, they certainly could handle a text-based game with pictures.

In my experience the CoC II app and the old flash versions of TiTS do not exhibit this behavior, has anyone else noticed this?

Does the problem persist after a restart of the device? If so, does it start right away or does it take time for the performance to tank? It might be there's another app running in the background chewing up CPU, and running TiTS is enough to push it over the top.

It doesn't start right away, I'd say after about 20 minutes my phone and tablet start warming up. I usually clearing apps consistently and don't have stuff like location turned on. It doesn't get unbearably hot, but it does use a considerable amount of battery for what it is.

Like I mentioned earlier, this doesn't happen with CoC II nor legacy TiTS, not sure what is different about TiTS JS (browser and app version) that makes this happen. I first assumed that the problem was just the web version of TiTS JS was doing something weird, so I was excited when the android version was released. Unfortunately, the same problem persists.

Yeah, that is weird that you get it on TiTS and not CoC2, since I believe they're both JS now.

So you get this in the browser version as well? Have you tried a different browser? I know at least on the android device you can install your own browser. My wife swears by Kiwi, which is a Chrome-clone that doesn't phone home to Google all the time like Chrome does.

I've tried chrome and brave, and tried toggling DuckDuckGo's app tracker protection (which uses a device's VPN functionality) with each, but I didn't perceive a difference.

I'll give Kiwi a shot I guess.

Edit: I'm not sure if this is the potential cause, but in TiTS JS there is this.....alpha effect? of scrolling lines behind portrait images as well as when you have the save/load messages pop up (not sure where else this effect is on screen). Could this animation be a reason?

Update: Recently TiTS JS got an update that added an toggle for the animated scanlines animation in the options, and since turning it off the heat issue has disappeared. If anyone ever had a similar issue to me, where your device would heat up while specifically playing TiTS JS (app or browser ver.), try turning off animated scanlines.
