Thoughts? Interests? New game incoming!

Hey people!
I'm a somewhat new game creator trying to make a lewd game. I've been lurking around this forums for a bit and was a big player of coc & FoE for a bit.

So I'm working on a new 2d game in Unity and I'm basically doing everything myself. Art, program, animation and writing.(So many hats I swear.) I'm rather close to a prototype or maybe a tech demo but I had wanted to get some opinions on this game idea and see if there are any recommendations or pit falls I should avoid.

Some info on my game so far:

Player: Female (Male choice may either come later)
Planned Kinks: Furry, BDSM, FemDom, Furtinari, Tentacles, Fearl (monsters), Mind Control, Humiliation,
Public Exposure, Domination, Consensual Smut and Non Con. (Others may be added in later.)
Pairings: GirlxGuy, GirlxGirl and GirlxFutinary (Paring will change if I add in a male protag.)
Genre: 2D, survival, rpg turn-base porn game.

Story: You're a female lioness knight that finds herself in a world ruled by lust. The army you were apart of just lost the final war for the kingdom. Weaken and trying to fight off the curse of the lust fog, your only goal is to survive and find a rumored safe haven among the new dangerous lusty world. You start off by following the clues left behind by a close friend.

How does the game play: Think Neo Scavenger with a turn base combat and some light visual novel story. You start off at a town scavenging for gear and food. You travel from town to town figuring out what happen to each town through notes or survivors while trying to find out where to head next. At some point you'll encounter monsters that you'll have to fight or run away from. Lose and those monsters will either take your stuff or take you. Win and you take their stuff or lewd them ;). Lose too many times and you'll get a bad end. Starve and you also lose. This will have more than one ending depending on your choices on your journey.

So here are some questions, should I wait till I get to alpha or would you folks be okay with a tech demo? (Tech demo for the most part will have sketch art and place holders. And some code will have bugs in it.)

This game will also have lost scenes that involve non con like coc did. Should I add a button to avoid that? (Like I could add an option that you can distract the enemy by throwing more of your stuff at the enemy and make a break for it.) Or would adding that ruin the whole point?

Should I focus on only a female protag or should I try to get both a male and female to the same level? (since I am animating combat by hand, I was thinking on focusing on the female first before getting to the male protag. It would mean faster game updates, if I go this route. Also for the sake of finishing the game, I can cut out the male protag all together and leave that for a sequel.)

That's it for now. I'll post some images of what I have below.
1.Sketch image of the background of the battle scene.
2.First turn around for the female protag.
3. Quick animation of combat.

"This game will also have lost scenes that involve non con like coc did. Should I add a button to avoid that?"

If it's only lose scenes I don't think it's needed, however if you wanna have people that lie or try to take advantage of you in towns and things like that perhaps it could be useful to add a non-con button to activate. It would increase your freedom when doing the game compared to not having it.

"Should I focus on only a female protag or should I try to get both a male and female to the same level?"

From what I have seen male characters are overall more popular, but you can make a game with a female protag without issue. As a middle road perhaps you could have her become a futanari within the game, starting as female but if you end up drinking (or being forced ot drink) a potion or things like that the character can end as a futanari.

"Should I wait till I get to alpha or would you folks be okay with a tech demo?"

The only reason after which you should give a tech demo is if you want feedback related to stats or how the game works. If you have a polished concept and stats it isn't needed.

Overall the only thing I would add to the concept is to have a few companions, not many, just 2 or 3. Overall it could open for more interesting stuff outside of "lose and be raped" if it happened, such as having a companion captured by monsters and having to rescue her. Depending on the type of world you are making people can be really evil towards the MC and her companions.

Eh, fuck it I'll bite. I think most people would prefer an alpha over a tech demo, since placeholder content alongside normal content doesn't usually mix well. As for the non-con issue, so long as the game is clear about non-con being in there before anyone can see a non-con scene, you should be fine.

For the protagonist issue, it's really up to you. You could just leave it female protag and go on with your day, eventually make a male protag, or put the male protag in from the very start. Me personally, I'd like there to eventually be the choice of a male protag, as I enjoy male femdom. The choice is yours.

The only question I have is, outside of just gitting gud and not losing, would there be ways to avoid certain kinds of content? For example, you have futanari content listed. Is that just "Any character can have a dick, enemies are placed in a pool and drawn randomly for each encounter," or are there only specific characters who are futa? I ask because futa is one of those fetishes where some people really like it, and others (such as myself) really don't. The idea for most content is that, although it is absolutely there if people want it, they don't have to engage with it if they don't want to. CoC has a lot of content like that, where although there aren't really many hard locks on content, players always have the ability to not engage with content they don't like.

Thanks for the reply, and answering your question, I was thinking of only having enemy demons being that and maybe one npc. Now I think that would be easy enough to spot that content coming up. But if that does become a problem I could just add a filter to take out enemies like that.

I think I'm going ahead with a tech demo on this. I should have something either mid next week or weekend.

okay maybe next weekend. Currently spending THIS weekend animating as much of the player as I can. Here's a sneak peek. This is the idle animation with the first clothes. Yes.. I'm animating clothes on top of a base sprite. This will allow the player to have some options on what they will wear. Also as many color combos they want their character to wear. (Also if you want to fight in the nude now you can!) (Disclaimer: The pants are missing a frame to show that its a different layer. Will not have blinking pants in game)

Welp, that took a lot longer than I wanted it to be. Because of life, progress on this game went at a slow pace and then randomly picked up to high gear at random times. But now it's safe to say, I will be releasing a more polish tech demo of this game very soon. (Maybe this weekend!) As such, this may be my last post on this thread. I'll be making a new post with links to the game once I'm ready to release. I might do a last post here with a link to the main thread. There I'll be updating any new progress on this game.

Either way it's exciting to see how far along this project has progressed and I'm excited to see what you folks think!

Depending on what kind of content you want to add or what kind of game you want this to be - I'd say avoid the general pitfalls of these games and follow these pieces of advice:

- The game has to do things on its own and try to surprise the player.
- Don't get lost in adding new characters. Make a set of characters and develop them deeply!
- The game is the vehicle for the story. Or the Porn. It gets into the vehicle and goes for a ride to go somewhere.
- It's most fun when the NPCs do things on their own instead of being smut dispensers.

I think you should focus on the female protagonist for now and add a male later if you want too.
