Likely just unforeseen side-effect of ships receiving their own maps with multiple rooms, and the crew event(s) roll being done on every move from room to room, instead of only once when boarding the ship. Other events (like Anno&Erra occupying your room) happen just as frequently and yeah, it does get annoying fast.
