Hello and sorry if this was answered in another post. Any tips and/or strategies for fighting both Synneva and Atheldred in the Specter of the Wyld Event. I have had difficulties with the fights and lost to Atheldred twice and won the third time through brute strength. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Side note: The bad ending just kills me, I have never felt my heart sink so hard before, like a cinder block in the ocean. It lasted for four day before I recovered and I'm still scared of the fights. I can't lose Ryn to that fate again. ;-;

As with all spectral enemies, they're both extremely resistant to Penetrating/Crushing damage (or completely immune to Penetrating in Atheldred's case) so if your Champ is relying on their weapon and brute strength you're going to be severely disadvantaged. Powers that add other damage types to your attack can help mitigate this, especially Charge Weapon since Synne is incredibly weak to Holy and Atheldred at least doesn't resist it. Save your Ultimates for Atheldred and focus your effort on her because the fight ends as soon as she goes down.

Oh, and if you're trying to get the objectively best outcome of the quest, do not use Banishment if you have it and equip some other Ultimate instead. While it does allow you to one-shot either of them, it will also lock you out of the path that gives you the best story and gameplay outcomes.

Thank you so much for this advice, I'm playing a run as a Black Mage grabbing a few items and gear to help with survivability. Thank you for helping keep my best girl safe! wondering what ultimate to swap in?

Anything else really. If survivability is a challenge, using Unbreakable in the final fight can help a ton and Inspiration is a great 'panic button' move since it's not only a full-party heal but adds to your max HP as well. Revive is much more situational but has its uses (especially if you've lost Ryn) and Assassinate is a great attack, but probably not a good choice for a Black Mage unless you've specifically built them to be the punchy sort of mage. Still, better a direct damage attack than Banishment ending the fight immediately but cutting off your ending options.

Yeah, I used Assassinate hoping that Charge Weapon would augment the damage for Atheldred. . . Didn't work. But, the game decided to bless me by nearly one-shot Synneva with a Celestial Smite Crit dealing 417 damage and beating Atheldred on my second turn after I had Ryn give the team Blessing on her first turn and landing a 365 Blessed Celestial Smite Crit. Thank you again for the advice, It was a lot of help.
