I just had to start a new thread to say that I love the "Gunboat Diplomacy" achievement and, "I see what you did there."

Does make one want to collect them. I think the fact that it's all but impossible to earn them all in one playthrough nice as well. Drives the point home that there's no one "right" path, and improves replay value a little.

He did indeed, but I especially liked "Gunboat Diplomacy" as a big middle finger to folks that thought a "modern" idiom had no place in a pre-gunpowder civilization. It's now CoCII cannon.
