Sometimes you can do whatever pre-fight

Sometimes, while zooming back and forth trying to spawn encounters, one will pop up such that I can choose to do other things than fight/submit/load game. For example:

I can just walk away, using normal map movement.
I can save the game(????).
I can masturbate(?????????).
I can rest (?????????????????).
I can open inventory/Codex.

If I walk away, I can end up in a fight with some other encounter entirely. Resolving this encounter (win/lose/flee) will resolve the 'You're still in combat, you ninny!' message. So will saving and then loading the new save.

If I want to, I can wander off, go to Tavros and reassure Bizzy that she is pretty without mods, cuddle Fisianna, and imagine the baddie is still chasing me. This is quality entertainment.

Here's a picture and a save file. Just walk around southeastern Dhaal (what there is of it) until the encounter happens. This also might be an intermittent issue specific to the Gabilani Chemist, since I don't recall encountering it with other opponents.

Edit: Further testing/farming suggests it only happens while moving east/west, never north/south, but I'm not confident enough to assert so.

This also happens in Korgii Hold Battle when you are going up and down the stairs.

Also, "You're still in combat, you ninny!" is nothing more than a dev message stating that something has gone wrong. The baddie is not chasing you, however interacting with your inventory will put you back into combat as if the baddie has been right behind you the entire time.
