When fighting the Gryvain Techie, I had been hit with her Tranquilizer attack. On the turn where it brought me to 0 Health, I had also won via lust. After the victory scene, I'm sitting at 0 Health which doesn't return until I return to the ship and sleep. (resting does not raise this back from 0)

I actually recreated just losing via Tranquilizer, loss scene plays, and I am again at 0 Health. Wandering around at 0 Health seems like a bug, unless this is a feature in which encounters are an autoloss until you sleep or recover via items.

Did you Wait, or Rest?

I don't think moving at 0 HP is a bug. Kicking you back to your last save is what Bad Ends are for.

I just tried resting again, for 30 minutes, and got back 1 HP.

I tried that previously and it didn't seem to work, so I'm not sure.

I think you're correct about it possibly not being a bug. Should I just delete the post at this point?

'Rest' is better for recovery than 'Wait x time', IIRC.

Recovery is based on time spent and max HP/Energy.

There might be something weird about a double KO. If you can get that again to test it.
If it isn't a bug, this might get moved to a different sub-forum, or just buried forever, depending on when a coder comes on.

Yeah the double KO is... interesting. I think it'd be easy to recreate, just a pain to line up the required lust to win the fight while dropping to 0 at the same time.

I suppose SOMEBODY wins in that scenario, but maybe it shouldn't be the PC? idk.

Internally, the way combat rounds resolve, draws are always resolved in favour of the player because we check for the enemies being defeated before we check for the player being defeated.

Resting and Waiting both heal via the same mechanism and code, the difference being a Rest will heal 33% (100% if smuggler) base HP over its duration, where as waiting requires 8 hours to achieve the same respective effect. There's nothing in there that cares about the players initial health, it's all based off of Max and a multiplier built around the time being waited, so I don't think there's anything to fix here.
