the same functionality as the anti-grav thong? Technically speaking, I don't see much if any techy lore reasons arguing against being able to wear the other sets of hardlight stuff and being able to have a vibrating shaft of light up my Ausar boi's backdoor.

The Anti-grav underwear is made almost entirely of hardlight, so it's pretty trivial to reconfigure the shape of them to do the job, while other underwear have a hardlight emitter in the front but are otherwise cloth.

So it could be possible if they made the HL upgrade item add that feature as well, though I'm not certain how difficult that may or may not be.

True, but it's also never really been said just how hardlight works, for all we know the emitter is sewn into the fabric and it could be double sided.
I would also just take a toy we can leave inserted in ourselves.

I've always thought of HL projectors being a prism-like gem attached to a small power source, focussers and appropriate housing, in the case of the equipment being HL entirely then the projector is like a trinket or accessory that projects the equipment or shape it needs to when turned on. Entirely HL underwear? You actually wear a belt, which then projects the HL underwear, or as per the subject of this thread a strapon. HL bra? Necklace that projects the bra, that sort of thing, you know?

In any case, I'd think it would be in the realm of technical possibility but you'll be faced with the issue of who's willing to go through whatever rewrites necessary and, most importantly, the code rework.
