How do I interchange parts on a ship?

You can't - at least, not directly. You have to uninstall (i.e. sell) an equipped system and have another one installed (i.e. bought) in its place.

If what you're getting at relates to storing systems on your ship like we can store equipment in our inventory, it's not going to happen; those systems are simply too big to put in our ship's storage.

Ah. I suppose that could work, but I haven't heard of any plans for such a thing.

How would it work? Would you have to go to the place that sells the equipment you want, have it installed, then go back to Tavros and uninstall it into storage? Mail-order?

I will say upgrading to a new ship will be annoying if it doesn't natively have enough slots for my crew (and I'm not running all possible crew members, either). Having to kick people off just to go install Advanced Quarters feels bad.
