From a player perspective would you be less likely to play a game made in tyranobuilder?

It's fine... But tyranobuilder = Japanese Dev.

It kind of implies things. Like translation problems and visual novels with single choices.

I haven't played a lot of Tyranobuilder games, but in general it just seems much less user-friendly than Ren'Py. The Fate of Irnia, for example, doesn't actually let you quit because the dev forgot to include a quit function- you have to alt-tab out and use the taskbar to manually close it. It also doesn't use a universal save location, so it's much less convenient for games where you have to download multiple updated iterations, since you have to copy the saves across by hand to avoid having to start over with each new patch version.

Thank you I want to make sure I make the right choice and don't go with something that will give people issues/won't be player friendly.

Ren'py's definitely one of the most user and creator-friendly options.

I've heard visual novel maker is also decent but it's premium and doesn't have -nearly- the tutorial support that ren'py does.
