Recruiting Yammi

Just chat her up casually and you'll eventually find yourself with the option to buy out her contract.
Okay then, here's what I did. First I bought an ice cream feast and exhausted all the conversational options. Next I went back to the ship and slept, then returned to Iced Teats for a new scene. Yammi closes the store after that, return a while later and you should get to buy her contract.
Talk to Yammi about "Herself" at least once. Upon revisiting her, there is a 1/3 chance she will have a "bad day" event happen (sometimes it may trigger right after going back to her main menu). Once that happens, she will temporarily close the store for about an hour or two. Visiting her again will have her to explain her financial situation with the company, to which Steele can sympathize with her or help her out right away (sympathizing will allow Steele to help later if desired). After essentially buying Yammi's freedom, Steele can then choose to take her aboard as a crew member or let her go out on her own, Whichever is chosen, Iced Teats will be temporarily closed again for about a day so they can get a new employee to fill Yammi's place.
Jacques already did, are you playing a backer version or public? Because I'm pretty sure Yammi's recruitment wasn't in the public build for april.
