Reclaiming the Pod

What's the point of reclaiming the data pods? I mean besides the obvious boat load of credits. Has there been anything put in that would cause someone to not want to reclaim the probe? If there isn't going to be anything put in there, then what's the point of giving people the option about reclaiming?

Each pod (except the final pod) has the coordinates for the planet with the next pod. The option to reclaim might be included just in case reclaiming immediately starts an event or maybe cater to a Player that only wants to reclaim it after they've done everything else on that world.

The data in the pod and the pod itself are two separate entities. And what about the first planet? If you lose to Dane Cook, you still get the data because your cousin is a secret masochist tsundere that just wants you to notice her, but you lose the probe itself. Would an event fail to trigger on Mhenga if you lose?

You get extra cash and presumably make the company people like you more.

You can also bone Milly when she picks up the probe. Bonus!

10,000 credits for first probe not reason enough at the begining of the game to turn in the probe?
That wasn't the point of my question. That's like asking someone if they want no money, or a million dollars tax-free with no requirements. What I'm asking is, will something like reclaiming enough probes cause the space yakuza to come after you? Are there consequences to your actions? And, no, losing out on 10,000 credits doesn't qualify (in my opinion) as a consequence. That's like saying "well if you don't hack the game, the consequence is that you'll never be able to get all the best perks/infinite money/infinite stats." But @sumgai did bring up a valid point: boning Milly. There is obviously a choice in reclaiming the probe so that a person is given the ability to grow a penis on their own terms in order to access every scene in the game without keeping them locked to the starting area until they manage to collect enough credits to buy a dose of Throbb.
