Reason for the Gene submission system?

Seriously, what's the point? Sure, it's interesting, but you have to go way out of your way for it to have any impact, and said impact is just you being forced into the exact same sex scenes as before! Maybe if there was a Bad End, it would be cool. But as of right now, it just seems like something squeezed in for no reason.

No rhyme or reason for it honestly except to cater to people with submission fetishes. It was just the way he was written, no idea of Nonesuch has any plans on expanding on the character with more submission content or other such mechanics.

Personally, after learning about the system i avoid Gene for the most part, only interacting when it's needed.

But even then, it's so obscure you would need to know exactly what to do in order for it to take effect. And again, the only reward is you getting forced into the exact same scenes as before.
Doesn't matter, some people like that sort of thing.
I imagine some of them question some the fetishes you like, or I like or anyone likes.
But at the end of the day, someone likes the Gene submission and its there for them.

I don't see why, I mean its not like you actually have to engage with Gene at any point.

It'd be different if he was vital to plot advancement but he isn't.

Exactly! And you have to engage with him so much and with so little indication that, as said before, you have to know exactly what to do in order to get it.
