Questions about Asuar and their warp tunnels (and then some more questions)

As I am working on my race, I found myself at series of questions that I have not found the answers to yet.

Is the warp tunnel that was developed by the Asuar actually a complete wormhole? Or are they just small variations of them? (like star trek?)
What is the threshold that these warp tunnels sustain before destabilizing?
Do you need to travel to a place first and then place an warp gate there, or is it just a gate that you can type any coordinates in the universe and travel there?
Are there limits to how much of space-time can these tunnels bend? (otherwise how far can they reach before becoming unstable?)
Could these warp tunnels allow planetary size objects to travel across?

How large is there overall population currently of all the races in the game?
Has anyone in the lore of the game researched much into black holes, or are they seen as taboo and don't-ever-go-any-where-near-it?

Okay, instead of several threads in the Ideas board, have one thread in the general TiTS part of the forum.

As for the Warp Gates, they fold space to enable travel. Think "Event Horizon" rather than "Star Trek".
If it isn't mentioned, its probably best to not include it. Just think of the Ausar as maintaining gates on a regular basis.
The Gates are sent out first before a Rush, meaning that you connect to a "dark" gate and find new planets.
Its probably one of those things that doesn't actually matter.
Planet sized objects? Dude, I seriously think the gravity would destroy the gate or at the very least heavily disrupt the mechanics.

Dyson Spheres haven't been found yet, but generally considering that they theoretically would take longer to build than the civilisation building it.
Hard to put a number on it, but considering that Earth still has an overcrowding problem, you're probably looking at multiple billions per race.
Probably the same amount of research that we've put into them.

I've been wondering one thing that I have in mind for a future thing. Nothing major, just a tiny detail of travel I want to get right.

Can you travel from any gate to another gate or is it a pairing system? If the former then I got something to change but if the latter then the thing about going through each and every gate to eventually get to a point sticks.
