Question about shade/karaquest & myrellion probe

Hey! So, I've been trying to get the Myrellion probe / Kara Quests to go the way I want for... I'm pretty sure two hours now? I've tried all the orders I can think of and now I'm thoroughly confused as to how this is supposed to work.

I want to have the Shade reveal scene, preferably without having Steele as her lover. And I can't seem to get it to trigger? I've checked the wiki but it's a little vague (it just says there needs to be a "positive relationship" and then she'll approach once Steele has the probe). I've also used the forum search and found one thing from 2015 but that order didn't work for me either.

I've tried doing Kara's first quest (both seducing Shade and leaving), then the probe, and then the bar, but it was just normal Shade dialogue, and then I went to the ship and the Tech took the probe away.

I've tried doing both Kara's quests (in both ways), then the probe, then the bar, and then just wound up having a super unhappy Shade one time and no Shade at all the other time. And then the Tech took the probe once I went to the ship. Plus, Shade went straight to Uveto after the talk.

So. What am I doing wrong here?

Did you do all of Shade's talks before you got probe? Because doing Kara Quest 1, retrieving the probe should trigger the reveal if you're got a good relationship with Shade...

Okay, so I *thought* I had but apparently I must've not, cause it worked? Wild.

This time, after retrieving the probe, Steele went to the bar, then had sex with Shade, and then went to the ship and Shade popped over. So now I'll keep fiddling and see if it's possible to do... without having sex with Shade. But I'm guessing you do have to, since two of the "talks" only pop up if you've had sex with her? Hm.

Huh. Okay, so it actually worked without having sex with her too. W-i-l-d. The only thing I can think of being different is I scrolled to the bottom of the text field instead of just rapidfire clicking 1-2-3-4-5. So. Not sure if that did anything or not. But. I guess everything is groovy?
