This ... This seems too familiar like the Goo Armor from COC back in the day appearing on you when you first get it, take it and use as a Follower then not getting it back as a usable armor.

Might be the Updated version of the latex suit that was probably never specified in the announcements. Might need to mention it in the Bugfix section with the game save file attached.

Maybe you scan it over and didn't read it the first time?

In COC's case, it was a pretty damn buggy game when it was coming out of Alpha and Fen was working on the Farm encounter location.

Okay, let me explain WHY I make the comparison and why Nova is so frustrating.

Coding an item in the game isn't the same a coding a Follower, something that has been a thorn in the sides of MagicTed and Fenoxo for a long time since the Goo Armor from COC. Nova is the same kind of armor (which I think is funny). But the armor here may conflict with Nova's coding as a Follower and also affect the coding of her as an item that can be found in the world if sold at random.

So if you have a hard time trying to upgrade her, it is either the parser or the source code itself running in the background that's the issue. Not you. But if you have save edited or experienced a change that is out of place, make a bug report.

Latex headpiece, I wouldn't know just a thought.

I'm not offended, you're trying to get a solution and I'm not giving it to you. For that, I apologise.

I get that it's odd. But you ask help on something that seems more of a description clarification, function correction, redoing set items made a certain way under specific conditions, jumping through hoops in a discussion thread. This could have been an isolated case if it was just your version of the game. But it isn't, it was made that way. Can't fix something that isn't reported, ergo: Bugfix.

If creators and programmers made it, consult them about it, if they can't you'll most likely have to put it in that section anyway because there's nothing they can do since it was implemented. Until Fen or Savin do something about it, it moot to try and fix it. As far as the thread is concern, it just turns into a compliant.

If it was a guide that you needed to get what you needed, I could have suggested that but what I've read was more of a gripe about something partaining to how Nova worked and a latex headpiece which "who remembers every meta" it could have been there the whole time and you just missed it while throwing your hands up in the air over Nova's other functions.

I've been here since the old Forums and this has been my first and only forum I have EVER been on. I don't know forum mannerisms as well as you, I do run into those problems and get my balls busted for it. It's not like someone is there teaching me this stuff, I learn from my mistakes the hard way. My time hasn't always been on forums because I don't actively participate in them often enough to do that. If you're confused about something like that, probably a good chance someone isn't aware of it.

Getting back to the original question, the Bondage and Laatex Fetish Masks are both new. How new I'm not exactly sure, certainly within the last couple patches. It looks like they were automatic additions since I know I didn't fight any new enemies and see any messages about Nova upgrades. I, too, wear her exclusively.

As for the rest of the upgrades, they're pretty straightforward IMO. They're all listed in the wiki. Granted, they'd be pretty hard to come by naturally during the course of the game, but the devs and writers have historically been great about including roadmaps for stuff like this either in the wiki (eventually) or in the change logs.

Story-wise, sentient, friendly grey goo is new to both of you. Upon creation, she doesn't yet know all of her capabilities and neither do you. Having her to turn into a suit that looks like a crotchless, assless, breastless Mechadodzilla that can fly and shit rainbow lasers from day one is not good story telling.

My question about the GGA is why have an option to add an emblem to the armor and why does it disappear when in swim suit form? It sounds like future content is planned where you need the GGA with a specific emblem displayed in order to go undercover in some corporation's headquarters.

Of course, I'm probably way off base and nothing of the sort was ever planned. It's just odd, is all.

Thanks for being understanding, i feared even prefacing with my intent not being to be rude and not having any other way to phrase it other than raw blunt would simply lead to a fight or hurt feelings.

Seriously, it's okay. It wasn't clear the first time what exactly the problem was that you needed help with. I thought it was a bug but now that you explained it in detail, it wasn't. I'm pretty chill person once you understand me, back then I wasn't (mental health check) and this whole thing could have gotten worse than it was. We're good, mate.

I for on am hyped for thebiologist’s Nova expansion to be accepted and implemented because oh man the customization options are glorious.

If I could have Nova (or Goomi as I’ve named her ;p) could turn into a wider range of styles AND change color, I will be happy for life. At the moment, I switch between her and the Dhaalian Nurse Outfit because I just wanted a bit more variety (and of course Winter Gear for Uveto; it’d save a LOT of annoyance if Goomi could keep me warm). Various upgrades have been added over time by various writers. Each with their own requirements on what it takes to trigger the upgrade. She is also more complicated to deal with than a normal follower who is always just in your ship. Nova can be in your ship, worn, or in inventory. This means more variations to write and plan for, plus more to code. Writers don't always deal with all three states.

I agree that getting some of the upgrades is a pain. She is the armor my Steele always wears. I played for a long time without most of the upgrades because I had no idea they existed. One day I came across a mention of one which prompted me to check her wiki where I discovered all the cool stuff she could do.

Also note that there is now a toggle in her talk menu that will turn on/off comments she will make during combat when you take lust or hp damage. It defaults to off so you will need to turn it on to see them. Fen forgot to mention it.

Oh well. Good to get the word out about her new content. Fyi, nothing else from thebiologist's expansion is planned to be added. The best stuff was cherry picked and adjusted for game balance.

People that wrote in this thread are interested in Nova. By updating it they will get a notice and see my comments. Not sure why that is confusing.

Didn't mean to resurrect an old thread but see my comments above to why I think it is fine.

Paradox, Null and Shura are all very active on the forums, they don't need a reminder and Grim was trying to help, not looking for answers.

The point of this thread was to find out if the 2 helmet designs i mentioned were new, and to complain about the convoluted triggers for her, both of which were answered, you've added nothing to the purpose of this thread, just dug it up when a brand new fully functional thread already existed, so i think finding you confusing is a legitimate response, i think you bumbled into this thread via my linking it to Starstruck and you went right on to commenting without checking either the purpose of the thread, its age or what had already been said beyond a quick glance.

You do understand that DZ is the one that coded the recent Nova expac right?

I was quite aware of the topic of the post. I commented because as someone that codes for Tits, and specifically works on Nova expansions, including the one just released, my experience and point of view doing such would be informative. You are free to feel that it was not, however I don't believe you can speak for others. I already admitted I did not notice the age of the post, although 2 weeks is not really that old.

I was not aware that you were a moderator on this forum and were tasked with monitoring necro'd threads. You might want to get Fen to change your name color so people can tell. Would you like me to ask him in work chat?

Oh, I guess that means we won't be seeing the additions to the clothing style system? I was looking forward to that, but oh well.

Guess they have to keep the other clothing items relevant. :p

Seriously, though, I’m also bummed out by this, but I understand why it’d be too much hassle.

Sorry I was not able to add that part. I looked over the style customization stuff and while it had some cool and interesting things, it was all just cosmetic except for the "nude" goo suit. It would have added a lot of clutter to a character that already has a lot of menus and customization just to make cosmetic changes. I get that customizing the look of your armor is cool and fun, but even disregarding the menu clutter a balance has to be found with what gets added to a character as far as time and resources used. Also I know Fen has a concern about the appearance screen getting too busy and long. This extra style customization would have added to the armor description part of the appearance screen.

However all is not lost, I may come back and add some or all of it someday. I just need to figure out what parts would be worth adding taking into account added menu and appearance screen clutter vs player customization benefit. It is just not something I can spend time on right now. I am just happy I was able to work with Fen to agree on game balance and mechanics of what I did add.

Nah, I totally understand. Some of that stuff was definitely pointless and redundant. Also, I just looked at her Cosmetic screen again, and I can see why it might've turned into a sea of menus - clearly, focusing on balance and mechanics was the right call.

...Yet I still couldn't help but look forward to being able to wear two hats at the same time, plus a helmet during combat. It's the little things, you know. :p
