Old forest monolith

Does the Black monolith on the north right tile of Old forest have any purpose?
Is it forgotten flavour text or will it play a part in future content?

Seeing how the game is under continuous development and tiles with interesting descriptions like the tree in the center of the forest didn't get a purpose until just last year (or the Temple of Terrestrial Fire in the Frostwood which went about a year and a half until it could be entered), it's entirely likely that something is planned to involve that tile and it simply hasn't happened yet.
