New starting races?

I was just playing around with some of the transformatives when I this thought jumped in my head. Has there been any thought given to maybe adding a couple more races to the game? Like maybe starting off as a Boreal elf like that cutie Etheryn? Or maybe starting out as a minotaur like Brint? Or dare I say it? Start out as a centaur?

I know some of these races could potentially be OP, like Boreal elves being basically immune to cold damage, or Mino's and possibly centaurs being obscenely strong or fast, but I believe these can be offset with certain penalties for them. For example Boreal elves are immune to cold, but perhaps have them have comparatively low health or strength due to their race being in decline. Or Minos having a harder time learning spells or having a lower agility.

Hell could even have secret quests added, maybe you're an exile from Winter City for some unknown crime, or maybe you earned the ire of Alissa and through that form an easier bond with Etheryn?

NO, everything that happens at the start is set in stone. There are people who know where to go to post the info for the reason.

According to Savin, that's a big, fat no. Also, the PC will always be bipedal. So, no taurs, nagas, driders.

The thought's appreciated, but yeah, none of these things is of any interest to the team. Starting options are one of those things that're set in stone for this game. The ability to start as a different race would make writing for Champ a lot more difficult. Right now, Champ's canonically an outsider in the Marches. That's just Who They Are. Changing that isn't something that we want to do - and it'd require a lot of new writing to even come close to making it internally consistent if we did change it, which we won't.

Fortunately, you can TF into a frost elf or a minotaur later. You won't be able to TF into a centaur, though.

Don't worry. Brint/Brienne, Ahmri, and/or Etheryn all adore the player character anyway. I mean, Ryn and Ahmri practically fall in love at first sight.

Poor Winter. Getting the patented Savin "No". It must have been traumatizing and killed her hopes and dreams. What a baby, am I right?

No centaur tfs of any kind will be added, much less put as a starting option. The big anatomical difference means writers either need to do a bunch more work to take it into account, or just bar access to that content from non-bipedal characters.

Aside from the starting stat bonus, and the stat affinities (which just change what you can boost on level-up), the only races which would get any bonuses for being a member are god-tf races, and that's because you sell your soul and make it so that you literally can not tf away from that race. And even then, as a Kitsune, the only two gameplay benefits (excluding the changed interactions with kitsune) are being able to learn Blue Flame Blade and using the kitsunetsuki power with the Fox Gem. Basically, just access to two abilities, one of which is similar to the Charge Weapon power, and the other being an Ultimate which just inflicts status effects.

So, basically, applying stat changes as ridiculous as these are an absolute no.
