I'm gonna make this quick; I'm getting sick of losing damn near every fight because enemies keep stunning my character or binding them. This is an issue no matter the character I play. I get into a fight, I get stunned or get bound or fucking BOTH, and then because it takes 30 thousand turns to recover I've already been beaten because the rng on stat checks just decides to completely fuck me over and the enemies are just doing max damage every god damn turn. Nerf that shit cuz it's entirely ridiculous to be getting my shit rocked on fucking Mhen'ga.

I've been advocating for this for literal years. I don't think it's ever happening :/

It's not much, but now there's an gear flag that increases the chance to escape a grapple. So far there's only an armor, but multiple copies of the flag stack, so it'd be nice to have more.

There's also some new things to reduce stat grinding:

An utility implant on Dhaal gives physique gains from engesting a specific kind of protein-rich fluid.
A cocksock that increases physique gains by 50% at the expense of gaining taint points.

But you have to make to Dhaal first. That might be a tall order for someone who's having trouble on Mhen'ga.

I'm not sure what's giving the OP so much trouble. Maybe with more specific information, we could give better advice.

I'm currently playing kineticist and got the Mind Trick perk a little while back, but before that enemies like the Vanae would first stun me THEN bind me and I'd take like 10 turns to recover from BOTH statuses and by then either my lust was completely maxed out or my hp would be reduced to 0. Even with mind trick to break me out of binds there's very little I can do when Raskvel or the LG-BT or the Enhanced Rusher get me locked in a stun loop. Currently I'm level 7 and while bind isn't too big an issue anymore I still get stunlocked often.

You should be able to get out of Grapples with Speed of Thought, unless you're neglecting Intelligence.

The big issue, I think, is that Kineticists are encouraged to ignore Physique, but a lot of Stuns are resisted by it. Smugglers get around this by not getting hit. I played a Melee Merc and Tech Specialist, so I'm not sure how the Ranged versions avoid it.

I think it would probably help if Stunning required Steele to have 0 Shields. That's how it works for NPCs, after all.

Aside from Willpower my two highest stats are intelligence and reflexes. I still throw points into Aim and Physique cuz I know those are still good stats to have some points in but I don't prioritize them.

You can train your stats and level up. The only one holding you back is you.
How the fuck does this help me with the fact that seemingly no stats in this game prevent you from getting stunned. Please, explain to me how telling me where to get a few free stat points is gonna suddenly make Stun no longer the most broken bullshit in this game.

To add insult to injury whenever I stun an enemy they recover the turn RIGHT AFTER I stun them so I only get one turn where I can attack for free and still do minimal damage.

I'm currently trying to get through the plantation quest and this stupid cuntboy bee is making me consider dropping this game forever.

1. Most Stun attacks are opposed checks.
Opposed checks usually take the form of (Attacker Stat/2) + (Random 1-20) vs (Defender Stat/2) + 10.
If your stat is high enough compared to the opponent's, you'll always win. If it's too low, you'll always lose.
Stun in particular is usually resisted by Physique or Willpower. Blind is usually (always?) Reflexes.

2. It's generally better to max out the stats you care most about than spread out your points. 13/level is enough to max 2 Stats and keep one high-ish. As a Kineticiest, Aim might not be doing much for you. Did you take Telekinetic Warrior or Third Eye Aim?

3. It's not 'a few free stat points'. You can max out all your stats this way. However, because of the way Slow Stat Gain works, it's better to do it first, then invest your level up points.

4. Prioritizing Evasion and bosting Reflexes might let you avoid getting hit by the attack in the first place.

I took telekinetic warrior since I remembered Disarm being a big thing when I used to play way back... So far I've only been disarmed once.

I may have made a mistake.

Disarm can also be removed by equipping a new weapon from your Inventory. Doesn't even have to be the same slot you want to use.

If you want to change it, enable the Cheat Menu. You can then refund Perks in the Level Up menu.

Personally, I think while they have great theming, both those Perks are bad/misleading.
Telekinetic Warrior: If you want to get the most out of it, you have to forgo weapons, which can have significant passive stat boosts.
Third Eye Aim: Accuracy and Damage are now calculated with Intelligence, but things like Stun Chance are still Aim/Physique.

In my completely unprofessional opinion

Kineticist just needs a fucking overhaul. And the stun infliction chance should be changed cuz at current it doesn't matter what stats are high or low cuz enemies stun lock me ANYWAY. It should be a Physique/Willpower against Physique check instead of whatever the fuck it is right now.

You can literally max out every stat. There's a wealth of information about equipment and builds. You can farm exp to over level your character for nearly every area in the game. Many have been playing this game for years and manage to get through relatively easy. You too can easily overcome this obstacle if you actually tried.

The only truly correct way to play this game is to hack your stats with the save editor so they are always maxed out at level, add yourself useful perks from other classes, increase your max energy to 9999, and add a year's supply of military stimpacks. Weapons and equipment to your liking. Oh and of course don't forget to check the "easy normal mode" box in the settings. And maybe, just maybe, you'll have some hope of keeping your buns safe. But it's not certain.

The hyperbole is a little thick here. I had to hack through it with a machete to pare it down to the sensible bits.

1) Tainted Rusher combat design could use looking over. It was written & conceived by a community writer and implemented by a volunteer coder, so likely some rough patches that could be ironed out.
2) Plantation quest runs all the way up to level 7, and while it's true that it takes place on Mhenga, representing it as problem with the starter planet bullying kineticists is a bold mischaracterization. It's basically post-Myrellion content.
3) Plantation quest was community-written content meant to be a difficult challenge the whole way through. The Zil Tribe in particular was designed to be very punishing, owing to being completely avoidable. Kane's a real bastard of a fight, I agree. He might be pretty punishing for your build, in which case it might be a good idea to return at a higher level or toggle easy mode.

Post Myrellion content? You get the email after Tarkus, though it is generally doable then. I do have to level grind a bit on some of my characters to get past Kane.

why would you want to do that tho
I keep forgetting how few of you people are tops.

I may be the only top that plays this game (and CoC2 but that game is perfect aside from the fact that often I take more damage than I can heal even when I'm at low Threat but it's whatever that's a rare occurrence anyway)
