I'm not familiar with the game or the character, but from a quick Google search, it seems she's Fire based. Tech Specialists are normally very Electric, but there are some options for Burning.
1. Intelligence is your primary stat. Keep it maxed.
2. Aim is your secondary stat. Keep it maxed.
3. You can max out all stats by Training. It's not necessary, but it does make the game a lot easier.
4. Techs have Energy management issues. You can buy Power Potions from certain Vending Machines. They stack to 10 and restore 100 Energy on use. They used to be consumed instantly. I don't know if this is a bug or not.
5. Lots of Burning Ranged Weapons, mostly Lasers.
6. Don't dedicate yourself to only Burning. Some things are highly resistant. Keeping a backup weapon or two is a good idea.
7. You can use the Salamander Defense System for an explosion when your Shields drop. Downsides: You can't use a Drone Accessory. If you took Shield Booster, it will do a lot of damage, but your Shields won't go down that often.
8. If you train with Tanis, he'll teach you to make explosive, Stunning arrows. Kind of redundant with Overcharge, and Bow exclusive, but it's there.
Level
2. Attack Drone is Electric by default, but if you take the Perk, you can get a Laser Drone later. Or you can take Shield Booster.
3. If you're going Ranged, you probably want Overcharge.
5. Thermal Disruptor, obviously.
8. Overcharge and Second Shot compete. Second Attack is only really useful if you increase Physique. Overcharge is upgraded to 2x, regardless of which Perk you choose.
11. The Deployable Turrets are lasers.

Thanks for all the tips! never intended to go only 1 damage, i'm using burning and electric because i noticed the enemies where i am are weak to those.
I went with Shield Booster because i heard it massives increases your shield when you level up while the drone does little damage.
For now i'm level 2 and my melee weapon it's Arc Sledgehammer and the ranged weapon it's the Ancient Long Laser Rifle

Don't underestimate the Drone.
1. It does consistent, scaling damage. It cannot miss*. Even if you can't/don't attack (grappled, use a special ability), it's still doing damage.
2. Attack Drone gives +1 damage/level and is necessary for 2 Drone Accessories. Fenris Assault Drone 2.0 is very nice, in particular.
3. Drone Control adds 25% of your Intelligence.
4. In the late-game, you can get a 2nd Drone for 4 attacks/round. The particulars mean it's not necessarily appropriate for all characters, though.
Combat Tail Cybernetic implant.
*Cartain Accessory Drones have a 50% miss chance vs Flying, but the basic Drone doesn't.

That said, there was an announcement that Drones are going to be reworked into Creatures at some point, so who knows how useful they will be afterward.

I'll give the drone a try then, any specific order and where to get them ? (and if there any changes to the perks to be more compatible with drones), i'll start out with the combat drone from the ability tree

There aren't that many.
1. Fenris-Class Assault Drone. You can get it as part of the story quests. Has 3 versions and you upgrade it once. If you have the Attack Drone perk, you start with Normal and upgrade to 2.0. Otherwise from Damaged to Normal.
2. Siegwulfe.
3. Laser Sentry. Only obtainable if you have the Attack Drone perk.
4. Combat Tail. Acts as an additional Drone and benefits from Attack Drone and Drone Control.
Fenris, Siegwuilfe and Laser Sentry are all Accessories and are thus mutually exclusive. With each other and with the Default Drone. Combat Tail stacks.
Edit: The Accessories are not straight upgrades from each other (except for the Fenris versions). I'm still using Fenris on the latest planet.

It's a shame that the "multiple tails" support really isn't multiple tails - I want my Steele to have the combat tail plus a few genitails, preferably at least one that is fully functioning ovipositor (fertile eggs). If Steele can have a Swiss Army crotch of many vaginas and penises, why not a Swiss Army butt as well?

Which drones are the best ones for a melee tech build?
Personally, I like Tam-Wolf 2.0. The extra Electric helps keep the damage relevant vs enemies that highly resist Kinetic.

Tam-Wolf, Siegwulfe and Combat Tail are bugged and get Charge Weapon's extra damage.
Fenoxo was going to fix this as part of an overhaul that would make Drones separate creatures in combat, but I think he got distracted by the Kineticist.
