Just a question I've been thinking about. (I know the game is super early but I just feel the need to ask.) I'm a pretty sexually fluid dude and I'm into a lot of different types of people, though I have to say I prefer male partners. After playing through most of TiTS, I was a little disappointed by the small number of male crew members (not that the sex was lacking, just a little hassle having to fly across the galaxy for a booty call.) Are there plans for a more even spread between male/female/etc. companions? Also, Brint is great and I can't wait to top him
It may be awhile if we ever get another traditional male companion. Etheryn is confirmed, but is more of a gender-ambiguous trap. Then there's Berwyn (the summoner dog boy from the foothills) who's writer would like to make them a companion, but it's a little early to call that a done deal. Berwyn, while identifying as male, is also more of an effeminate twink that happens to have a massive penis rather than the traditional male.
The above is only for companions, though. Non-companion followers similar to CoC and TiTS will still be a thing, and they're a lot less restricted and require a lot less of a commitment from writers. There's quite a few traditional men who could be candidates for this category, but we haven't finalized any plans for followers yet.

What Drake said, but I am going to address this in particular: there is absolutely no intention in the game design to enforce any kind of ratio of content (in companions or any other facet of the game). If a bunch of writers had wanted to write male companions, that's what we would have.
What Savin said, in a nutshell.
Followers are limited to longtime writers, who coicedently are almost entirely female (or female-intersex) focused. Of all the writers, the main creators of male content are Wsan (who would have probably done a dickgirl for companion anyways if Brint wasn't commissioned from him), Foxxling, Altair (neither expressed interest in CoC2), LukaDoc and Quiet Browser (both relics of the CoC1 period, more or less seen but not heard in a long time).
TiTS is a female-slash-dickgirl focused porn game, CoC2 is bound by this legacy at least on this topic.

My current plan is to make him toppable in a regular way and then have a cursed (or similar) item available if the PC isn't happy with how un-subby he is.
Oh, also, Brint wasn't a commission in the sense I was told what to write. Savin gave me free reign on what I wanted my companion to be. I had a few concepts I thought about (hard to remember them now but one of them was a female paladin in heavy plate) but there are several reasons I ended up going with Brint. So don't think I'm being forced to write a male for the sake of tokenism or some kind of attempt at maintaining a ratio.
