Merc Bigger Guns Ability...?

I feel like the level 10 ability for range mercs is extremely underwhelming especially if you consider the fact you can easily max out your physique even without ever putting points in it.
Unless I am missing something.

If your Physique is decreased below 40 in combat while you have a Power Armor weapon (but aren't wearing Power Armor), you won't be able to use it. Feruze's Tranquilizer (-50% Physique) can do it, for example.
Note: despite the name, it also works for melee weapons with the Power Armor flag.

Still, it is underwhelming, especially as the level (and stat) cap rises and Power Armor becomes more available. The current set is great for a Mercenary, but not for anyone else.

If you get hit with a PHY debuff without Bigger guns you'll won't be able to use a high PHY weapon. Bigger gun essentially makes you immune to this.

Just tested, Tripped (by the Mining Robot, Physique -4) does not disable either the Saurmorian Hammer (the only Power Armor melee weapon) or the Aries Light Machine Gun if Physique remains above 40.
