Lumi Fight Help (v 0.8.138)

I cannot for the life of me seem to beat her. I can't win by Lust because she takes drastically less Lust damage after taking the medipen than prior and I can't win normally because she starts every fight with the charged shield and it never goes away meaning I'm constantly blinded or being shocked right out the gate not to mention the wiki states she has an electric weakness and yet my Lightning Rod does pathetic amounts of damage. If I try to brute force through the blindness, her shield restoring abilities mean I never break through to her health. I'm lvl 7 in a Steeletech Suit and using a Secure MP as a Smuggler.

Well here's ONE of your problems. Not only does it not do Electrical Damage, it doesn't crit. Lumi takes +30% more damage from Electrical attacks and 45% LESS from Kinetic attacks. Try the Arc Caster instead.

Other than that, you're probably better off going for Lust attacks, even with her one Lust reset. Don't go for "artificial" boner-bombs like gas grenades; she has high resistance to both Drug and Pheromone attacks. Shake what yo mamma gave ya.

Like I said, beating her by lust doesn't work. I'll do like, 30 lust damage per, but when she uses the medipen to reset her lust, I'm suddenly doing like, 8 per. I also pointed out that I have the Lightning Rod, which does electrical damage, but that's not enough either.

You could buy the FZR Fire Suppression System from Shekka. It's Evasion penalty isn't the best for Smugglers, but 4 rounds of auto-crits with your Lightning Rod will likely help.
What are your stats? Did you go Melee or Ranged?
Are you limited to Tarkus, or have you unlocked the next planet? Are you trying to beat Lumi for a specific reason, or are you content to avoid her for now?

IIRC, I've beaten her using Lust but Theron has a good point; what are your stats? Also, the rest of what he asked. You may just have to skip her and come back when your level is higher and your gear is better.

Going ranged. 13 Physique, 20 Reflexes, 27 Aim, 22 Intelligence, 25 Willpower. Taken perks are Shoot First, Aimed Shot, Stealth Field Generator, Grenade, Quickdraw, Smuggled Stimulant.
Also, yeah, I want to avoid her, but there's no option to leave without a fight.

If you're primarily Ranged, you might want to pick up the Shock Bow. While the Codex says Stun Chance is a flat % chance, I suspect they added a stat check in there somewhere. Stuns seem to never happen at low stat and almost always at high.

Where are you going? Or trying to encounter/farm?

Have you been taking advantage of the Ten Ton Gym on New Texas, or is that stat spread from level points? In general, you want to keep your attack stat maxed, and you get Intelligence/2 to Aimed Shot.

It doesn't help that she's immune to stun. It makes sense for her to be immune to blind because of her goggles, but using the bow special with Tanis' Bow twice, she ignored the stun both times somehow. (I figured that since I can't blind her for Aimed Shot, I'd stun her for it with the bow special then use the Smuggler's skill to swap weapons back to the MP without penalty to lay down some serious hurt.) But anyways, I actually found some success using the Atma Armor from First-14 since it gives me marginal lust resistances while being airtight and thus making me immune to her grenades. Forgot I had that thing until an impromptu visit to Tavros. I remembered I had some stuff in storage in the nursery and decided to check if anything there could help. So long as I keep my lust in check (Made the mistake of using a couple Spunkshrooms so I'm waiting for my Taint and Libido to go back down.) I can usually eek out a victory now. I even completed the Ghost Deck and Stellar Tether and made it to lvl 8 and now the extra energy (for grenades) and Second Attack bonuses alongside Lane's hypnotism (for Physique) make it even more manageable. With Lane I've got now 23 Physique, 23 Reflexes, 29 Aim, 25 Intelligence, 25 Willpower. As for the Ten Ton Gym, couldn't afford it previously. But now that I've completed Tarkus, I can buy the perm Membership. (I plan on upgrading to the Custom Shock Gear when I can to take advantage of both the stun chance AND the bonus hit rate for melee and upgrading to the Myr Bow or Zil Champion Bow, whichever comes first. for ranged.)

She's not immune to Stun. Concussive Shot is not guaranteed, it's an Aim vs Physique check.

target.physique()/2 + rand(20) + 1 >= attacker.aim()/2 + 10
Granted, with 27 Aim vs 10 Physique you should have had pretty good odds.

Also, mixing Melee & Ranged perks is not recommended. You generally want to stick to one or the other. Granted, I can usually get through most combats with normal attacks and there's someone on the forum who has gotten all the way to Zheng Shi at Level 1, but you may have a harder time than expected. Especially since all your bonus damage comes from Aimed Shot.

She can be encountered everywhere except the Scything Glades.

You know you can just run from the fight, right? Alternatively, if you've submitted to/been defeated by her at least once and select "NoThxBai", there's a 2 in 3 chance she'll leave without a fight.
