My question is, am I totally screwed or is there a way to save it? Maybe it's as easy as opening the program again, but I don't want to risk that if I close it, the game will be totally lost, so I'll wait for an answer, thanks for your attention

Sounds more like a Bug.
Are you saving the game in browser or are you saving a file on your computer?
If its the latter, upload the file to the forum.
